How to use AOL

Can I use AOL Dial up and switch to the firefox browser using the AOL connection? Will this prevent the AOL and internet explorer connection... ipburger said i was using aol.com or aol dial up, the ip address was different so that's good. Do I need to disconnect the cable wire while I'm working on ebay or amazon? If IPBurger says AOL.com will my broadband appear to EBay?

You can always just unplug your ethernet cord when you are using dial-up just to make sure.

New thread was a mistake... thanks. My son says that unplugging the ethernet cord will cause static and ruin the motherboard over time. I liked the orion thread on ip addresses, but I ordered AOL today before I read it.
