Default Quick Q about headers in hotmail

Not sure what section this goes in, but I need to know to handle an ebay dispute. Do full headers in yahoo show the receiving parties IP, or just the sender of the message? Thanks!

No. I am not asking if headers show the IP of the sender of the email. I am asking if the headers can also show the IP of the person receiving the email.

Again....that ^ is about how to look at full headers, and find the SENDERS IP. I am not asking about that. I want to know if it is possible (from headers) to determine the IP of the person the email was sent TO.

I feel like I'm making myself clear, but I must not be. I need to send ebay copies of an email (including full headers), so that they can use this email as evidence to assist me in a dispute. I want to know, if the headers of this email I send them (not my email to them...the headers of the email I send them a copy of), will show the IP address of the sender, the IP of the receiver, or the IP addresses of both. I realize that they will already know my IP address, from sending them the message including the copy of this email, but I want to know if it is possible to determine what IP RECEIVED the email I send them a copy of, from looking at that emails headers. Get it? lol

^^^^

OH GAWD!

The website was just posted to give you some insight on email headers. By sending yourself other emails or analyzing some already sent or received emails maybe you can determine what you're looking for?

Am I making myself clear?

I did read (skim through) the link you^ sent. It seemed to only address headers in terms of locating the IP of the sender of the email. If it explains headers in terms of both parties, I apologize..I missed it.

If you have enough of an understanding of headers already, to know that the answer to my question is contained in the page you linked to, then could you please just answer me instead of redirecting me? I absolutely do appreciate you responding to the thread, but I would much rather get a simple answer to my question, then study materials =/

All I need to know, is if full headers show the senders IP, the recipients IP, or both...That's it. Thanks!

No headers just show senders IP.

Now if your email had a tracking pixel, then sure, it can easily read your IP and other info, but if images are disabled by your email provider, then you'll be okay.

That's why we suggest Gmail in this forum, as images within emails are disabled by default.

Cheers
