eBay is using Canvas and WebGL tracking

Here's the proof by using Brave browser to capture it.

I see canvas as an issue but webgl to me has no issues

Interesting. Better start incorporating Amazon stealth techniques into your eBay accounts now..

Is Brave Browser helpful with Canvas?

empirestate 06-27-2017 04:57 PM

Re: eBay is using Canvas and WebGL tracking

Yes, the browser blocks canvas tracking.

Check your signature with this:

It sounds like it is not an exact science to me.

One tip, NEVER block the Canvas value, always try to spoof it. They can see if its being blocked, and that is more of a trigger to me than using the default.

I was thinking of getting this a add on and it seems to explain it pretty good.

What do you guys think?

Add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ingerprinting/

Write up: https://multiloginapp.com/how-canvas...ily-trackable/

I've been using it for about a year and I can say it does change canvas results on whoer.net

If you use it... set it and forget it...

If its really a serious concern though, I'd go with virtualization over an addon.

What are you using for virtualization?

Welcome back...:welcome; Been on vacation or just that busy making $?

Just a wild guess I'd say vacation... This time last year I lost 2 accounts to buyers. These last two months this year I got negative feedback on 5 accounts. The only negatives I got all year. Next year I'm taking a break May & June. Just going fall back and sell storage unit items.

PayPal have been using this form of tracking technology for as long as I can remember. They've never exercised it in the form Amazon would do, i.e. link and suspend. So with eBay being so closely affiliated with PayPal I would presume the same. Hence, their purpose of using it may be for something else (perhaps, not sure).

Ideally you want to be putting each account into its own Virtual Machine, each with a different OS to really prevent any form of linking. This is the best way forward as you future proof your accounts from all angles. But for now, new user accounts tend to suffice.

My personal fav is THIS addon. Included below is how to configure it properly to get a persistent canvas readout id.

So Canvas Spoof is bad because they know you are changing it but
canvas blocker with persistent canvas reading is a good idea. Right?

The goal is to spoof your real one, new spoof ID should not change constantly hence we make it persistent. You dig it homie?

Re: eBay is using Canvas and WebGL tracking

Can someone educate me about canvas?

What's the difference between non-persistent, persistent and constant settings ?

Feels like I should set it to persistent to each of the portable browser so to keep the same settings every time I connect to ebay and pp ?

If it's non-persistent , ebay would see it as a new device every time I close my browser?

Am I correct ?

Re: eBay is using Canvas and WebGL tracking

I have the same canvas and webgl in 2 different VMs using 2 different VPNs when connecting. Everything else seems to be good and unique. Is there something I might have done for it to do this? Would using the same iso file do this? Either way, do I just create a multilogin account for each VM and use that to combat the canvas and webgl?

I wouldn't read into it too much.

You're doing more than what's necessary for the purpose of eBay/PayPal tracking. New user accounts suffice, so a VM for each account is more than enough.

If you really want to play it safe, what I do is isolate each account into its own VM, and ensure each VM has a different OS. That keeps things more isolated/independent/unique than is necessary.

Beyond that, is just being paranoid.

For Amazon it's a little more complicated. This thread was posted in ebay/paypal so advice will be for those.

My best advice for Amazon is get a cheap laptop, and dedicated the account to that laptop. That way there's no risk of linking, and everything is unique. :)

I always tell people to avoid tethering using a phone anyway.

If you're going to go that route, get a data sim, and a usb dongle.
