Why a VPN and not a VPS?

I would like to know why most here recommends a vpn for ebay account, and not VPS or a private proxy, knowing that the VPS is more secure since it gives a fixed IP address, and also gives you a new computer?

Re: Why a VPN and not a VPS?

I would say the main reason to pick a VPN over a VPS is the price difference.

Personally I do use a VPS for two of my accounts which are managed by multiple people which suits my needs, but for a one man operation a VPN would do.

If you do decide to use a VPS you should double check that its located where the provider says that it is and that you have a fresh unused IP address. Also avoid using windows server operating systems, stick to the desktop versions.

what is the right supplier to buy a VPS, and how will I check if the ip address is not used?

Depends on the country you need the IP from. I would say its trial and error, like other members on here I use a number of providers I have found myself but don't want to share them publically for them to get abused.

I always prefer to use Proxies and VPS over the VPN because it's cheap. You just need to find a very rarely good provider for those - coz most of the datacenters are already blocked/considered as spam.

Why use a VPS or a VPN when you could just use VM and a dedicated IP from ipburger

You need to use an IP address from the country you are setting up the account for. So in your case you will need to use a Moroccan IP

If you're asking for the right supplier to buy a VPS then maybe you should NOT be using a VPS yet. As an inexperienced user, you'd be testing the waters. From multiple security risks to technical problems that may keep you out of the system.

I would suggest you use a MiFi or similar while you get a course on Udemy.
After a week or so, you should have an idea of the responsibility that comes with it - and decide if it's something you want to do.

Only eBay or ICANN can genuinely tell you if an IP has ever been used on eBay.
Everything else is speculation.

Re: Why a VPN and not a VPS?

After years of experience and going through many hosts for my PP & EB accounts I've come to the conclusion you can pretty much go with damn near any VPS provider with a OpenVZ box for around $12 USD per year with 512MB of ram and a IPv4 to run VPN software on Linux.

Let me know how it goes find a IP that hasnt been used....

You'd save time by ask yourself the question what is IPv6 and why do we have it?

Maybe I should add any VPN with an IP address other than your own is a VPS running VPN software just in case you weren't informed.

One reason for using VPN software over a web browser on a VPS is that VPN software uses less resources with making it less expensive.

The other reason is that running the web browser on a PC at home and using the VPS's IP address through VPN gives you more control over your personal data.

I somehow expected you'd chime in! When it comes to this sort of matter, your word is final. :humble:

By the way, how can I find you on GitHub? I want to get a hold of whatever you've laboured to put on there.

doesn't ebay KNOW that you are using a VPN or VPS by the ip and dns? is that not an issue for them and a red flag? I'm truly confused as to why a dedicated.ip is not the best option? can someone please explain?

How to find a good provider? Is there a method to find out if they are good before using?
