Default Linked accounts.... trap or incompetence?

I found my ebay account restricted last week,
reason: associated with another account. All news to me.
I did a LOT of research in the past week and learned more about ebay's problems than I ever imagined. So I get it. I get it.

So what was the cause?
My mother sold handbags on ebay, nuf said.
Was playing with fire she was, although I'm fairly sure she's Innocent,
tho, as i told her, "you could have googled it".

my mother managed to talk her way out of it, to get her selling restriction removed a few days ago.

I received an E-mail saying MY "restriction had been removed, but now restricted from selling fashion accessories only", which.....is good enough. the closest thing own have to a fashion accessory is a ca53 calculator watch.

On ebay actual, I am now restricted from selling anything, and ALSO restricted from selling fashion crap, they just added it, didn't remove the other restriction LOL

But, BUT, there is more, as of today, my mothers paypal is locked, my brothers paypal is locked. But mine isn't!
So, I have paypal, but selling locked,
my mother and brother CAN sell but paypal is locked.

SO....my question is
-Is this incompetence?
-Is this ebay's "anti family" policy?
-Is this a TRAP....(to see if we use each others accounts?)

I actually hope it is a trap, at least that would be some sign of intelligence behind the curtain.

If ebay's intent is to punish an entire family when grandma sells handbags too cheap, that's clearly not going to be a "successful business model" long term.

There WAS a time when we had one computer, lived together, and all used one ebay account, back when windows Xp was new that is.
But so did most people in the old days.

How FAR back in time do they look into the data for these "LINKs"?

well....to be honest I'm not interested in stealth.
I'm going to rely on my REPUTATION, which, is the point of ebay IMO, the way I use it, and it works nicely that way.

ebay wants to protect the seller from their own stupidity? what a load of crap.
My username is my name, my address is the house I own and live in, and that's how it's going to stay. If they screw it up, they screwed it up, not me.

Am I living in a dream world? yeah, probably, but, you are welcome to join.

I'll let you know how that goes. Probably straight into the toilet, but lets prove it!
