Error 691 SUCKS!!! Hours, and hours trying to get it fixed.... that 760 is a pain when that error comes up.

I had to get them to warranty replace it to the UME175. Works much better.

oge 05-11-2010 07:44 PM

lol hours is right when error 691 happens it seems like verizon doesn't know what's going on. I'm on my 3rd replacement card in the last 6 months because of the error 691

First Edition 05-12-2010 09:45 AM

Get them to exchange it for the UME 175. It's much better.

I haven't had a problem and if i do I was given a code to fix it. The whole problem was using Clear & Sprint cards while I had the Verizon card plugged in. It was changing the setting opps!

Just a heads up to those of you that was looking for Verizon Broadband prepaid I guess Verizon is feeling generous they bumped up the 500 MB to 1GB

Verizon Wireless - Mobile Broadband - Plans

Otherwise you could pay $10 more dollars and get the 5GB but it's not prepaid I'm sure they will be bumping up the prepaid soon to 5GB just as Virgin Mobile did.

tbeezy 05-30-2010 09:48 AM

I'm thinking about starting to tether on my Sprint Touch Pro again. I had previously done it when I had a Treo 755p and was evacuating for a hurricane, but have not touched anything tethering since.

First Edition 06-06-2010 10:43 AM

If you're in 4g, sprint tethering is great... although I'm noticing it doesn't cycle through ip addresses as much as verizon

can amazon detect unique wireless aircard numbers?

do Mobile Broadband cards (modems) have unique numbers like NICs do?

Anyone have any info if amazon can see this?

Hi all,

If I may, let me ask a question and ask for some advice. I currently run my ebay & amazon accounts from my desktop with cable internet. I have a laptop that has never been registered on amazon or ebay. I'm thinking of getting an air card JUST for the laptop so I can open another account on Amazon & ebay. (I sell women's accessories from a local shop here and know I can sell 3x as much if I had more Amazon accounts)...so I thought I'd make 1 more account to see how it goes.

Now the type of air card plan I need is the problem I'm having. I would be using the air card on my laptop strictly for Amazon and Ebay apart and separate from my cable internet desktop.

I would do all my surfing, emailing, downloading, etc...from my cable desktop. I would use my laptop only for my second Amazon and Ebay and on occasion when I go out of town to do minor surfing & checking email etc.

I know we are only talking $20 per month difference (on the 2 plans below)......but what is your recommendations? Thanks everyone.

Or if you can recommend a better air card plan that changes IP's each time, that would be great also. THANK YOU!!!

The plans are: Verizon Wireless

Mobile Broadband Plan—5 GB Monthly Allowance
$59.99 monthly

Best for heavy users that:

* Need a frequent mobile connection
* Send or receive email with large attachments
* Download or upload large files such as photos
* Need frequent access to Web sites
* Download music occasionally

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Mobile Broadband Plan—250 MB Monthly Allowance
$39.99 monthly

Best for light users that:

* Send or receive email with small or no attachments
* Light Web Browsing
* Download or upload small files
* Download a song or two once in a while

I just signed up for their 1GB plan. Haven't even started selling, already spent 20MB the first day. It's a ripoff but 5GB is probably the better option.

I can only get about 2-3 accounts on one laptop before I have to use a new comp when using the broadband card....

Although, they do sell cpu's at goodwill now :) And I just trade them in when I'm done and mark them so I don't re-buy them later :)

do you follow the stealth method, i.e. separate windows accounts, new IPs, etc.?

Maybe you are just listing the same products and coupled with your basic machine configuration that's visible to any website they can deduct it's probably a new user since your new accounts pop up about the same time another seller (you) with similar products just went down on a similar setup machine.....

sorry to be asking these questions, I haven't read all of your posts, you might be way past that stage.

If you are doing everything correctly, then it means the wireless card is transmitting some unique ID from the machine... Usually in the case of a NIC a NIC would be transmitting the NIC's unique number as discussed in-depth in some threads on this forum, probably not the machine ID... But if you are using the same wireless card on a new laptop successfully it means the wireless card is passing on a unique machine identifier, not a wireless card identifier...

Has anyone used the tether software at tether.com for a blackberry using cricket or boost mobile? Figured id ask before trying it on my own and wasting the cash.

oge 08-17-2010 10:20 PM

I used it with boost mobile blackberry and it only gives you a pool of 10 of the same ips. You could use it but you would have to keep track of which ip goes to which account ie: ip logging. GOOD LUCK!

ghostboy 08-17-2010 11:41 PM

maybe crickets the way to go

ghostboy 08-17-2010 11:48 PM

I just like prepaid.

First Edition 08-26-2010 12:18 AM

Prepaid is the most truly "stealth" way to go... but it still sucks compare to a post paid plan.

mememe1972 11-23-2010 03:08 AM

thank you both for the info but I have to agree true stealth would be PREPAID

nicetrypaypal 11-27-2010 12:18 AM

best way to go is go to datajack.com. i got like 2 more places but keeping them in my pocket, but datajack.com has 5gb at 49.99 montly no contract.. uses sprints 3g network. but once you plug it in your computer it shoows you that if it dont have enough coverage or it is close to roaming, it has contract with verizon and att to hop onto their lines as well.

youcant do it manually it will do it for you if needed.. this also doubles as a memoory stick with 16gb and capable of going to 32 gb..

heres other pakces to so you can compare prices..

Prepaid Wireless Broadband Plans

nicetrypaypal 11-27-2010 06:51 PM

NYCLiz 11-28-2010 01:03 AM

I've read through this thread and I've took most of what has been said over the last year this topic has been going and started to research it a bit. I know that verizon recently hooked up with Apple to sell iPads and they now have the mifi 2200 device, which claims five devices can be hooked to it at once. I was wondering if any of you would recommend what has been discussed previously more than this or would you go with this device?

I am currently with T-Mobile and bought their card, but I cannot get a signal in my office whatsoever and due to my equipment and other restraints, I had no intention of moving to another part of the house to use it so I returned it. I am currently running five stores using other methods (Router, MAC, VPN) on one computer and so far it's been fine. I have been on eBay with two accounts over two years with little to no issue and I want to keep it that way on those. I would like to add another five stores that would be on another computer, possibly running off of the device mentioned above. I may even use my iPad for some listing or a new netbook.

Also, I live in a small suburb of a major city and my ip addresses with the mac/router change 8 times out of 10 show the smaller area, so I am worried that eventually may cause an issue since it is not a high seller based venue for my items.
