The Best Cookie cleaners & registry Optimisers
 

Hi guys, as we all know deleting cookies is essential when using multiple ebay accounts. Also doing this and performing registry scans and deleting junk keeps your PC running in tip top condition.

Here are my top programs I recommend to do this (In order of my personal rating)

1) Evidence Eliminator (£102 to buy)

An Excellent utility to erase, internet history cookies etc (but not flash)

Pros, easy to operate. One click scan

Cons Can be expensive

I have codes for Evidence Eliminator 5 (Windows 2000, NT XP)

and EE 6 (Vista) If anyone needs them.

2) Uniblue Registry Cleaner 2010

A great easy to use utility and pleasing interface to find, and delete problems. Users noticed improved speeds after running scan

3) CC Cleaner. Another good utility

4) Winaso Registry Optimiser > ANother scanner, does a good clean

5) Registry Mechanic > Finds and deletes problems in registry from partially deleted programs etc.

6) Wise Disk Cleaner 4.84 (FREE) Good program but annoying pop up asking you to upgrade.

One or a combination of these programs is ideal to clean cookies and keep all running well. Will give you the edge with surviving on ebay /paypal

I used to use evidence eliminator a few years ago for wiping free space. Can't believe what they are charging for it now.

Now I just delete the windows user account once the Ebay/Paypal account associated with it dies.

Jack, I have read a lot on here about using a separate user account but have never tried that. So that will work and you dont need to delete any cookies?

The only problem is a new user account will be like a guest account wont it? and you wont be able to access all programs? Is this right?

Neo, You've been here over a year and you don't use separate user accounts?? It's a lot easier then deleting cookies when switching between accounts and a lot safer. With user accounts, you rarely get the phone call to verify the pin.

No it won't be like a guess. You can make all your user accounts Admins so they can all do the same things your original one can..

It's the way forward - no more cookie deleting. And you can set them all up as admins (as lakeman said). Name the account after your ebay/PP user id, have a wallpaper made up of your PP/Ebay details, have a text document on your desktop with all the account info in....

Also store copies of the details for each account in you Public Documents folder as well as anything else you need to access on a regular basis - that way you don't need to keep switching accounts to find something you need.

I have too many accounts to use seperate users for each. Big or master accounts get their own users, smaller or experimental ones dont...

so I use betterprivacy and delete upon exit - would you guys suggest dom storage on or off though. Ive found disabling the dom storage is problematic as sites chuck you off, as they are object led.....

I think that just deleting LSO with BP upon exit is enough, but what do you guys think, I am doing a big reshuffle of users soon, and I will be tripling up on some users...

The new verison of cc cleaner will wipe free space.

i like ccleaner. mostly for the automatic cleaning at startup.

yes, tried cc cleaner. application works really fast, dont know how effective it is though.

Evidence Eliminator is good and takes about 25 minutes to run a full clean.

If anyone wants it I have a free copy with serial.

I heard better pivacy LSO is better than cc cleaner and it comes as an ad-on with firefox.

For the most part, CCleaner finds the ones that eBay/PayPal load onto your machine. Although; BP finds others used by other sites, and CCleaner does not. Since BP can be automatically ran when I close FF, i just use both of them to be safe.

You can have BP clean when you open AND when you close firefox. Good option, just in case firefox crashes before you end your session. Or enable it to clean when it opens but not clean when you close firefox - for those of us who want to peek inside those nasty files to see what makes them tick.

Good point Vic. I forgot about the on open option. I have them both checked.

Methods of tracking users are becoming more robust and sophisticated nearly every day. Since being tracked by sites is something which is we find particularly inconvenient, it is imperative that a person wishing to avoid lots of complication should become fluent in all the factors involved. The quickie tidbits aren't enough. It isn't just IP and cookies anymore. Hasn't been for a while.

I was thinking the same thing myself but alot of people here seem to be a little touchy on the issue so I try to keep a little quiet about it, like to keep the peace, don't want to stir up any problems.

Yes, some people only want to hear information that they find convenient. Those people don't want the truth, if and when the truth indicates they need to expend more effort than they find pleasant.

Well, that's fine for those people who don't mind trading off knowledge for expediency.

Me, I want to know all the answers and therefore be able to live long and prosper. To me, that's better than a 5 minute fix that only works for 30 days.

Hey i was about to use my blackberry to go on my accounts ....but do you get lso cookies on your phone aswell.If so what can i use on my blackberry to get rid of them.

Phone does download cookies, and you should be able to clear them in the internet options of your phone.

If your phone runs Flash, then yes it will save LSOs. If no Flash, nothing to worry about. I use my G1 all the time, but it doesn't have Flash.

The really cool part about using a cell phone is that you can change your IP in seconds. Been using that method for a couple years now.

has anyone experienced problems with their computer after installing cookies cleaner download? i downloaded on two different computers and each one of them had issues..like suddenly shutting down for no reason or not letting me open up certain windows items...

Use the free version it does the trick. Or is there a particular option the professional one has that you need?

Professinal Edition is usually for medium and large enterprises. You don't need it. Business Version is the same as the free (normal) version + it includes support, no more. So you don't need it.

No matter that, I can recommend this app: CCEnhancer. It's for everyone that is using CCleaner for years and know what to do!

I have always used crap cleaner, even if you're not stealthing it's good to sometimes clear out cookies and temp files that you never use anymore.

Has anyone ever been linked using images taken from the same device, not talking about using the exact same picture, but for examples using photos taken from a phone on various accounts.

I have looked into the header and footers of images taken from my S3 and all information I could find is generic i.e. make, model, time, type of file etc.

agree ccleaner is the way to go, been using it for years and the free version is fine no need to spend money if you dont need to

Cleaning Cookies is the worst thing you can do.....best to keep them in place.

Keeping cookies = having established history
Once you clean them out, your account is Not regognised, so you might end up in answering security questions to make sure you are not hacked in the eyes of EB or PP
Always leave Cookies!
Use different WIN User and you safe

With the increase in demand to verify your paypal account when logging in from another computer, and with an increase in number of people who dont keep their phone numbers active - it is strongly recommended not to delete those cookies. They could save you your account.

Of course, they are not crucial.

P.S. Interesting to see people's way of thinking 6 years back. :)

reading all posts about ccleaner deleting browser / cookies , however complete dunce at this but looks easy to use my question is as posts suggest to create use a new user account ??? to deflect ebay etc ....what is this user account & where would i find it please ....well said I was a comlete dunce at this but trying to pick up all information best i can
