Default Checking Emails on mobile phone

I sometimes check my e-mails from Ebay and paypal on my mobile phone. Should I stop doing this? I think automatically the images are set to off cause I just see text.

advice?

thanks

What carrier? I had a blackberry with rogers that was sending out read confirmations and I couldn't change it. Not sure what info phone sends, but it was sending read responses.

Depends on phone type and carrier I imagine. I would test it by sending yourself email from another account. And request delivery/read receipt and see what happens. Now none of that may matter. I really have no idea what phones can send back.

Edit: Probably also depends on email too. If gmail you are probably safer

Personally I only respond to messages outside of eBay if I have the bidder's/buyer's full e-mail and substitute that in the address.

here's the skinny on this...

a blackberry will only show text in an email that shows up, and actually uses push technology to make your email appear in your inbox on your phone, it's a mobile desktop. If you're logging in through your browser... dont do it. That's the point in a blackberry. They're super secure, and great for ebay. However, you can only have up to ten emails sent to a blackberry, 11 if you include the blackberry email address. Android is not as secure, but if you're not a spy, no worries. You can READ emails all day on any device. Without a problem. Responding is another matter. For example.... lets say you use yahoo on 7 accounts.... and gmail on another 3. The gmail accounts won't show the originating ip adress, but yahoo will. When you respond with yahoo FROM YOUR BROWSER it will show the originating ip address. With a blackerry, send from the blackberry server, sent from the email client in the phone, it will not. I don't know if this is the same with the iphone and android.... it is with gmail, but yahoo I doubt it.

Make sense?

Actually mobile phone browsers are one of the most secure for stealth purposes. This is because the 3.0 browsers are so simple and plain, there's almost nothing by which for them to track you. This may change as Iphone, Android and Blackberry 3.0 browsers become more advanced and have more add ons.

I disagree... the ip address will be tracked... as I said, with yahoo. Why would you login from the browser on blackberry anyway? The point of that phone is to have email pushed to it

Yes, obviously the IP would be tracked, but in terms of browser fingerprinting, user tracking, etc. it's the one that can't be tracked.

I could be wrong, I believe they're the same.

I don't understand your second question.... why would you make email accounts from a phone? I'm sure google will put a stop to that eventually.

Yes, you need to have a new MAC for a new amazon

Google is only going to let you have so many email accounts. They link the accounts from your phone just like ebay will. The only difference is, google has there act together, and google knows when you try to make more. At some point, google will try to restrict you from making more accounts using the same device. Make 100, and let me know when you get stopped

Making 10 or so isn't a big deal though. I'm sure it's great for most people. But with email, just like anything, don't rely on ONE service. Veteran members have seen awesome things come and go too often to not have a back up plan.

for ebay purposes, you don't need to change your MAC
