Default T-mobile customer sup told me they have static IP

I just got done talking to a T-Mobile customer rep and she told me that the IP address for their Air Cards ( IE: Sony GC89) used a Static IP. I asked her if she was sure and she said yes. This is for the slow speed 30$ a month service.

Does anyone on this board use T-mobile Air Cards and can confirm for me if the Ip changes all the time?

I have T-Mobile service and the wing phone. my ip is not static. I just log off and log back in to get a different ip...takes 2 seconds. Their hotspots have dynamic ips and you get a new one everytime you log in. I have no experience with their air cards but I have a lot of experience with their customer support. The first level of support knows very little and often will give you wrong answers. Ask them if there is a higher level of tech support or someone who can answer specific questions regarding IP addresses, etc. When I ordered my new phone and had these same questions, I was told to ask for blackberry or smart phone support and that would bypass the lower level of support staff. So don't take the info you get from the basic support level! They don't know all that they act like they know.

So I decided to get the Sony Ericsson GC89. Service with a new sim card (new phone line) is $30 additional per month. This is for dial up and I talked to their level 3 tech support like you said ebayvictim and yes, the IP is dynamic. Thanks.

I won't change it to EDGE service unless I really need it.
