is there any method to change IP REMOTELY? other than physically TURN ON/OFF the DSL modem?
I know how to reboot the WIRELESS ROUTER via http admin page, but the IP does not change. |

I know how to reboot the WIRELESS ROUTER via http admin page, but the IP does not change. | I believe all the answers you're looking for is listed in the Stealth book. Maybe you should get yourself a copy if you haven't.
Best of luck! |
italiguitar | 09-08-2011 06:17 PM | you should be able to reboot from your router interface. Make sure you reduce the "lease time" in the settings otherwise it will not release the ip address by the time the reboot is done.
You can also use Smac to spoof your mac address and the should give you new ip address upon reboot. |
pandasthumb9 | 09-09-2011 04:05 AM | thank you ! but I could not find where to change the LEASE TIME.. you mean the place where you can choose "AUTO REFRESH", 3 seconds..5 seconds?
the admin format i see is TOMATO 1.25
please give me a hint if you know.. |
Red X | 09-09-2011 11:09 AM | Go to "Start Menu", select "RUN", Type cmd.exe in the "run box", afterwards click ok,
When the command prompt appears type this, and press enter after each line:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
exit
Erase cookies in the browser you're using, now you're done, and should get a new ip address, sometimes you will sometimes you won't, so it's 50/50 |
This works if you just connect to Internet via modem right? No real router - if so...much thanks commie - will help with me remote login endeavours. |
pandasthumb9 | 09-11-2011 04:13 AM | thank you.. but I use REMOTE CONTROL.. I lost connectivity right after I type in
ipconfig /release
then could not get back to the laptop I am controlling.. Quote:

I'm pretty sure that this method only changes the IP address for your computer on your local network. It does not change your IP address on the internet which is what the world (and ebay) sees.
I would love to find a way to change IP's without having to reset the modem/router... I don't think it's possible. |

If the IP address on there changes when you reset the router, you're good to go. |
jackson2234 | 03-09-2013 08:05 AM | Should i plug my laptop directly into the ethernet on my modem first or can i try from my wireless router. |
jackson2234 | 03-09-2013 05:17 PM | Can i also change my 4G cell phone ip?
Do i need a new phone number? |
Speeder33 | 03-10-2013 02:58 AM | I think using your cell (escpecially with 4g) is the best way to go, airplane mode, check ip, and boom, new ip |

Do i need a new phone number? | You dont need a new number to have a change in IP - you do need a new phone number for making new account |

Pasicel | 03-16-2013 01:01 AM | I use verizon fios, i found out a way pretty simple to change IP address,
I log into my routers ip address
usually , 192.168.1.1
> Log in, using admin - password1 ( which is default for everyone )
> Click on my Network
> Network Connections
> Where it says Broadband Connection (coax) Click on EDIT on the right hand side
> On the bottom, click Settings
> Click on Release.
> Give it 3minutes it will renew itself and provide you with a new ip
Double check with Ipburger.com
Sometimes you'll have to do it a couple of times so it can change... |
maya9966 | 03-16-2013 10:57 PM | ip can be easily change in seconds.PM ME. | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:59 AM. | |
