After it arrived he noticed that it said glasshutte on it. My friend is somewhat educated in watches and knows the name as a high end product and the one he received couldn't have possibly been the real thing. The seller had about 20 different watches listed like this at any given time so my friend emailed the guy and asked if he had a catalog. The guy sends him links to all sorts of photobucket pages with the real names on them which he forwards to me.
The stuff he sent to me that I bought directly from him was pretty much just as pictured or very similar...anyway no dissapointments and the one time he screwed up I sent it back and he send a different item that was closer to what I wanted. |
| aspkin | 08-24-2007 09:53 AM | EBay can't track or shouldn't be able to track specific users of photobucket or any other image sharing sites, thus I said it's good to use these for your auction images. This shouldn't have caused your account suspension. |
| JackNoMore | 08-24-2007 09:55 AM | If that were the case, a lot of us would be screwed. Photobucket is sort of a third party. From my experience it's no less safe than sending direct from your computer. And if that's safe, photobucket should be fine. If you're concerned though, you could always encrypt the file name. It's one of pb's options. |
| rapunzel_01 | 08-24-2007 02:33 PM | heh ok man i think its weird to me....my stupid simon card has not come in yet and I bought this morning at 4am. |

He would then send pictures and prices. I transacted outside of EB with him, but checked out his listings. He is still around, he emailed me his latest last week.
He never used any names in his EB listings, only vague descriptions like "heavy all stainless, automatic men's watch" the photos that he used had every logo photoshoped out of it. He wasn't even comparing the watches to the original. He is NARU'd now. His customer service with me and myfriend was always top-notch. He had to get NARU'd because of VeRO.
BTW he had over 1000 feedback and a score of something like 99.8% | I doubt he was naru'd because of VeRO. If there are no keywords and no proof in the pictures how can a VeRO member file a valid claim? If that was the case anybody who sold a product that resembled a product would get their listings pulled. |

| spike1 | 09-21-2007 01:21 PM | photobucket does put your user name in there somewhere. i would recommend getting a different account (i think they are free anyway)
got this info from that tcho guy
qoute:
The url thing is the same subdomain (or whatever you call it) as an older account. So say you had a geocities account (substitute whatever it is you kids use these days) and you hosted images from there, it'd be a link. So say you used www.geocities.com/mysite/image1.jpg from an earlier account and it got suspended. So you created a new account and you used www.geocities.com/mysite/image2.jpg, well it's the same url just different pic, so you're screwed. But say you used www.geocities.com/diffsite/image1.jpg, then that can't link you (although if the pics are the same that's a different proof in itself). |
| iwuvmyson | 02-20-2008 12:46 AM | using the same pictures from old suspended listings? i have 100's of images to list and sell in quanity. i use to first upload my new item through auctiva, then relist through turbo lister and this is how i basically established my store and then had it on automatic relist which was awsome.. well, i wont be doing turbo lister anymore. but will the hosting link for the picture wave a flag at ebay since its the same pictures that were used from the suspended account? when i upload the pics from my computer to my new auctiva, it will have the same name/ or link.. will that matter??
I HAVE READ FOR HOURS FOR THIS BEFORE ASKING, SO DONT SCOLD ME AND TELL ME TO GO READ.
while im at it, is there a significant difference between aol 9.0 and 9.1 that im reading about.
and if anyone wants to offer 1 on 1 help please welcome me. ive pretty much got the basics down, but as i read, another ? will pop in my head and its a domino effect and im afraid to be a repeat ?'er as it seems all the old timers are sick of the newbies and the same'ol ?'s. of all my "real" friends.. im the only one a suspension has happend to.. so im kind of alone except for you guys. |
| GreenBean | 02-20-2008 12:57 AM | Yes. There is a definite definite chance that you will be linked/recognised.
When you become the 'new you' on ebay, you have to do the lot again. Using
the same listings picture for picture, word for word makes the flags go up, you
get linked, you get suspended.
I can't answer about AOL as I hate it with a passion. I use dial up
Also, I wrote a pm to you as an apology. |
| iwuvmyson | 02-20-2008 01:31 AM | i dont mean description and title, what i mean is......
can i upload the same picture to auctiva or ebay that i used before.. will the file name of the picture some how connect with a picture from the suspended account since its the same picture?? i guess anythings possible. i had a trademark violation, well.. several.. before my account got booted. but alot of my stuff is not trademark that i want to relist. maybe i should just rename the pictures????? before uploading them? |
| iwuvmyson | 02-20-2008 01:50 AM | what do you know! after reading several posted looking for the answer.. i scroll to the bottom of this page *after posting of course, and there it is in similar threads, the same question.. but it looks to be 07 stuff.. if anyone has updated info.. please tell. prob. be safe than sorry and rename the pics.. i guess. but what a pain in the arsh.. i have 100's of pics. |
| rond100 | 02-20-2008 02:05 AM | I use the same pictures. You can reload the pictures from you PC to auctiva and write a new auction descriptions. I have 30 auctiva accounts. |

I would definitely reccomend using new photos, unless you are using stock photos that lots of other people are using. Also, do NOT use the same hosting. Either host freely, or open up a store and host via there. |
| Ballsack | 02-20-2008 09:42 AM | As far as I can tell you don't get linked thru pictures. I use the same pictures over and over. I do get a little paranoid but in the end that is the last thing that gets me booted. |
| imjustme | 02-20-2008 10:20 AM | I use the same pictures, the same text, on several accounts. When one goes down, the others are still fine. I've had one go down and on the same day I listed with the same words and images on another account and it's still going after 3+ months. I don't think they link anything with images or text. |
| koalawash | 02-20-2008 10:28 AM | The only way that happens is if you have a competitor or stalkerish buyer reporting your listings all the time. |
| ebayhateluv | 02-20-2008 10:46 AM | HI, Just a friendly input from another user...
I cannot use the same pics.. every time i do, it links somehow.
I have some real good photos from 2005/2006 that a frined helped me do real closeups, I have a hard time, even using the macro lens.
So- i know those photos bring better money to the auctions, but when i throw them up, and even mix in some newer ones, i get the axe..
So, for me it doesnt work..BUT, for example, I have alot of one of a kind items, so its kinda obvious, so someone must look ??
--example Limited edition Artist Painting, LTD ED # 31 out of 240. NOW< I'm the only one with #31....so is obvious... Good Luck you guys who can recycle, as its a pain :)) |
| Chris Hanson | 02-20-2008 02:49 PM | I used the same photos same auctiva account before on a new account. Sadly it lasted about 1 month.. |
| koalawash | 02-20-2008 06:33 PM | Where can you find out all the things that eBay considers "high risk"? |
| ivegotinfo | 02-20-2008 08:12 PM | i dont get why people are so hard on other people for asking stupid questions. it might take an expert literally 30 seconds to answer a question and save the poor person hours of searching through the forum....
anyway, i use old pics on new accounts, but i resize the images and save them in a little bit worse quality so that the size and dimensions are different, then i also go into photoshop and paint around the item using some random color so it looks even more different. works for me. | | All times are GMT -5.
