Sure way of changing ip address

I would like to know what is the simplest yet most sure way to change my ip address,I use Sky Broadband.

Phone line into Router > then two Ethernet cables from router into two different computers, one in the front room, and one in the office.

Second question, once you change your ip address, must you change it again, or once its changed once, its always changed. You never have to change it again.

By the way, I check my router settings, it tells me I have a PPPoA Network Type

What happens when you turn off the modem and restart - IP reads what? changed?

Yes, I have tried this before and it always changes, iv been reading eBay Stealth 3.0 and have read some posts on here about ip address changes and have applied them and I think I have correctly found the way to change my ip add now

That is good - IP changes each time - you have dynamic IP - good to go.

In the past I have had to leave it off for a couple hours or over night. I remember a rare case in which I left it off for a day. An IP Address is reassigned every few hours/days depending on your service provider. If everything is plugged in and up and running than it will not reassign one unless it is unplugged. It is basically a cycle if that makes sense.
