IP tracking via wireless router at home
 

Hello all, I am fairly new to this forum and have found it to ve very informative :). My powerseller ebay account was recently suspended for no reason. While I am trying to proove this :(:(:( with Ebay customer service, I am looking for a way to get back on eBay. I have been using 2 laptops at home which are now flagged with eBay. I have an extra desktop that was not used for eBay, and I am thinking of using it for the new eBay account. The question I have is....
I have a DSL connection and also a wireless NETGEAR router to be able to use wireless connection at home. While I understand that each computer gets assigned a unique IP address, I also read somewhere that 'sometimes' a router can assign a previously used IP address or same IP address to a computer? Do you have any thoughts on that? I want to cover all the bases before using the new desktop for eBay purposes... I assume I dont need to reset the IP on the new desktop becuase I havent used it for eBay, but how do I ensure that it doesnt get same IP as my other 2 notebooks? Thanks so much in advance for your advice!

Woah... how were you able to setup your router?

Routers share the same IP address with whatever computer connects to it. So that means, each of your three computers have the same exact IP address. You'll need to reset your DSL modem, then your router to accept that new IP address. Use IP Burger - What is my IP Address? Find Your IP Address! to check your current IP address. I also recommend reading eBay Stealth to get the basics down. Good luck!
