Aspkin, you can make upteen accounts on 1 ip aslong as their in good standing order. Same Address but diff name, i.e Sisters, Brothers, Father's etc.

A family household is not restricted to one account. If however one account encounters problems then all accounts will be taken down.

Example i have been through when i lived at my mothers a few years back.

Mum had an account, Sister had an account, i had 2 accounts maybe 3.
I becamse a victim of fraud through ebay where i was scammed out of £800, paypal was in red, neg feedbacks flooded in as i was young, no sense, was dropshipping, i couldnt do anything but refund them and be in the red with paypal.

I dont think back then paypal was linked to ebay, but because of the bad feedbacks etc high risk stuff i was selling also i was suspended, few days/weeks later, mum and sister were banned.

They did however after about 5 years of moaning to me that they couldnt sell on ebay etc etc as my mum was addicted, you know what their like selling everything they could find. They are back on, same isp, same address, same tel, same names the lot, ive moved out they have been trading now for a few years no probs ;)

but if u dont want all of your accounts to drop dead when one gets suspended common sense tells you to create all accounts with a new ip and new everything ;) Like the book says.

Asp sorry for being an argumentitive swine, it's just i have been through it ;) And i dont think ebay are that tight to just allow 1 account per household.

How did we go from downloading of software so you can use it on all user accounts to cookies?

The original question was how do I download something and be able to use it on all user accounts.

I have a ton of user accounts, all with different names, IP's, etc and when I download something like Firefox it will only download it to the current user account and not the other accounts.

And when I switch user accounts everything is gone, all the setups, the connections, the software etc are gone. Anything I did on a user account previously is gone.

Cookies are easy folks, there is a sticky that describes it well.

Now for the other questions that are off topic, why the heck would you want to do all that work creating various ebay accounts and risk losing them all when one goes down, they ALL will be gone.

I'm not disputing you can have multiple eBay accounts with just one IP address. Sure you can but the accounts will be linked.

It's not the best way to do things; it's a waste of time and money if one of your accounts gets taken down, and in doing so it takes your other accounts with it. I don't recommend using just one IP address for all your accounts.

Sorry, just trying to correct a few statements.

I do that often, my fault.

Nothing wrong with clarifying at all, mistakes are costly and I understand.

Cookies are covered bigtime in a sticky at the top.

OK, so back to the OP's Question.....

>>HOw does one download Mozilla Firefox to Windows--and have it be able to be accessed by ALL user accts?
>> My suggestion was to open, and install to C;/, then allow-ALL USers..
--What else????

brokebackebay 07-30-2008 06:04 PM

Does all of this become moot point if ebay is truly able to begin to identify the particular computer you are or are not using?
