Cookies,History, Log On issue

okay, so i was just checking the selling history on one of my accounts and decided to check another at the same time.

so i closed the browser, logged off the user account on windows, changed the ip address by resetting the router, then signed into the other windows user account.

however, when getting to the paypal login page, the email address used on the previous user account was in the login box :s

are the accounts linked?
did i do something wrong?

im really confused?!?!?!?!?

Are you sure you logged in to the other user account? What browser are you using? You wouldn't be linked if you didn't log in to the other PayPal.

There have been reports of this happening. Never seen it myself personally

What OS and browser are you using?

The only feasible way what you're explaining is possible is you somehow previously logged into an account B with information from account A.

I don't see how Windows can mistakingly mix up the information on its own without the user committing the error unknowingly.

Each Windows account has its own directory where cookies are kept. Whenever you load a user account, Windows loads it here...

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies\

It's impossible for Windows to make a mistake and load usernameA when it meant to load usernameB. You would have to have some serious registry errors or some sort of virus for this to take place.

Sorry my friend, I believe you may have linked your two accounts. :s

Totally spot on. Cookies for different windows user accounts are segregated.
