| Sumer | 09-25-2013 01:11 PM | Fixed 5 IP addresses Hi, I'm currently using wifi hotspot off my iPhone and I'm getting sketched out by too many repeating IP's and it changes randomly during session too. How can I get 5 fixed IP's that I can use 1 for each of my accounts? My ISP is ATT and I'm unable to change the MAC address on it. What can I do? |
Re: Fixed 5 IP addresses Why are you concerned so much about fixed IPs as opposed to making sure you dont reuse the same IP across different accounts? |
| Sumer | 09-25-2013 04:54 PM | Re: Fixed 5 IP addresses Because on my iPhone, I only have a range of 75 IP's at the most. It's a hassle to keep airplane mode to get new IP and hope it's not been used or used by the account I want to access. Getting 5 IP's you'll easily have access to seems much easier to manage. |

How many accounts are you running?

| Sumer | 09-25-2013 05:59 PM | Re: Fixed 5 IP addresses 5 accounts and I use ATT as my cell phone provider and ISP |
| GreenBean | 09-25-2013 06:44 PM | Re: Fixed 5 IP addresses Consider another provider with a wider range of IPs then.

| Sumer | 09-25-2013 06:54 PM | Re: Fixed 5 IP addresses Forgive me if I'm wrong but wouldn't it be easier just working with 5 IP's than random ones? In the stealth guide, the writer puts he uses different routers per account. Just switches them out. |
| GreenBean | 09-25-2013 07:02 PM | Re: Fixed 5 IP addresses More used to dyamic IPs myself.
I have one less step to do and that is changing the IP. |

Then, all your hard work of building those 2 accounts would go down the drain.
Remember, what may be the easier option is often the option that has the greater risk of link. Stealth is not about taking the easy option. |
| JamesNorth101 | 09-26-2013 12:08 PM | Re: Fixed 5 IP addresses Using the same IP's time and time again, and never getting them linked across accounts would be good, but one mistake and that IP is out of commission, as well as 2 accounts.
It would also be pretty expensive to have 5 static IP's. |
| Sumer | 09-26-2013 12:45 PM | Re: Fixed 5 IP addresses With a unique MAC address, you get a unique IP right?
So if I have a MAC address for every account, the IP with always be the same. |
| JamesNorth101 | 09-26-2013 07:02 PM | Re: Fixed 5 IP addresses That depends on the lease that that MAC address is given on any certain IP address.
I can get the same IP addresses for a few days in a row without issue using the same MAC address and then suddenly the next day its a different IP.
Only way to guarantee the same IP time and time again is having a static IP |

Wouldn't you run out of them quickly and it would be harder to get unique ones as time goes by? |

So you could operate with 10 IP... |

Avoid making your choices too narrow to operate well in stealth.
Just a different way of looking at an entire picture of stealth selling.

:juggle: | This newbie to stealth thanks you! I want to be 100% clear on this so I understand what I need to do.
So.... an IP address can never be used again to login to any account a second time even if it's to the same account? |

What you have to avoid is using the same IP on different accounts. |

So you could operate with 10 IP... | Thank you from a Newbie! Wouldn't that be hard to do especially if I wanted to login to a certain account I would just have to keep trying until that IP address is logged into. I guess over time you increase the odds per account that you will log into a previously used IP (purpose for the login spread sheet), am I correct?
So what you are saying it's OK to reuse IPs ONLY for the account that it was used previously? |
| drm701 | 10-13-2013 10:09 AM | Re: Fixed 5 IP addresses WOW thank you guys I got an answer from someone before I submitted a reply. Now I understand how to use IPs properly.
Is there any software to keep track of IPs instead of trying to do it manually?
I know I'm going to love living here in Stealthville. :humble: |

If you learn how to change your IP using your MAC address, then you can choose which IP you get, but that it something to learn after you have gotten use to stealth.
Use http://www.aspkin.com/forums/multipl...-stealths.html to keep track of your IP. Only take 5 seconds to log the IP and the spread sheet does the rest. |

When I login to my ISPs modem the MAC address is visible but can't be changed. I'll figure something out maybe just buy a bunch of cheap routers. | | All times are GMT -5.
