Is it possible to use my stealth account on mobile tether? been doing alot of reading, I would be okay at home for a router swap but when I am always out and about I need my ebay account on the go on my laptop. The tether gives me a whole new IP but is it safe to use? I am currently with Three with unlimited data plan.
What do you guys think? |

Re: Is mobile tethering a good idea for stealth? Don't forget to log your ip's. |
Re: Is mobile tethering a good idea for stealth? Phone tethering is great - use IPburger.com to check the IP generated and keep logs of your IP (Search `sample excel sheet`for a form on this forum to use) so you dont reuse the IP across accounts. |

| Dmshark25 | 09-26-2013 02:38 AM | Re: Is mobile tethering a good idea for stealth? Tethering works great I use that and change the MAC address on my router after I reset the modem and the router it picks up a new IP
And for the US Verizon has the biggest pool of ipS I ever seen I log everything and never got same one ,
Check for the UK, there will be something similar. |
| tmastermind | 09-26-2013 08:54 AM | Re: Is mobile tethering a good idea for stealth? Cant speak for all networks in the UK but I hear 3 with its unlimited data plan is a v good option and ip pool appears to be pretty significant too. Hear many users are using it with success anyway.
Other alternative is EE who do a mifi device (Huawei) which is also pretty good as its a wifi dongle that reset ip each time its switched on and off and also seems to have a good ip pool |
| Geegee83 | 09-26-2013 08:56 AM | Re: Is mobile tethering a good idea for stealth? I got my Mifi Huawei from eBay, unlocked, so you can use whichever SIM date plan that suits you. I highly recommend it for internet speed and ease of changing IP address, seems to work well. |
| W0nd3rm4n | 09-26-2013 10:58 AM | Re: Is mobile tethering a good idea for stealth? Ah that's a great idea guys, Mifi would be great for me going to buy one now :-) you guys are awesome! |
| Geegee83 | 09-26-2013 11:14 AM | Re: Is mobile tethering a good idea for stealth? Good choice. I just have it on my desk, it's all wireless and then it's easy to just switch it on and off for the new IP :) |

However the way I do it is with my iPhone by going to "Personal Hotspot" You can then add a password so no one else can log on to it, and once you have your computer on it will look like a wifi port, and then you just connect. Verizon has two ways of doing this. You can either pay an extra $20 and have 2gb for tethering a month, or you can go on a shared data package plan, and it comes free, but you have to make sure you watch the amount of data you use. My family has 6gb that I share with them in all. Both my parents together use about 2gb together, and I get to have the other 3-4gb. Enough to do whatever it is I need as far as my stealth accounts, and just normal mobile services. :) |

| amysol | 10-02-2013 05:14 PM | Re: Is mobile tethering a good idea for stealth? I use it and have serious issues, It only rotates through 30 IP addresses, meaning I can only use it for about 3 accounts. And even at 3 it some times takes 30 minutes to switch accounts. |
Re: Is mobile tethering a good idea for stealth? If such a serious limitation amysol, better aim for a dongle. |

Slow process though. |

That's great, probably answers a thread I just started.
On the other hand, i've just started speccing out a tool for managing your stealth identity and this will be a nice feature.
Also, you say to keep track of your IP so you don't use the same across accounts. Considering all eBay stealth accounts are unique across users.
What happens if another stealth user logs in with that IP? Will the two users be linked even though they are being operated by different people in different parts of the country? If one users mishaves, could knock out the other?
In theory... over time.. loads of users could be linked unknown to them all. Then one person get's block and there is a huge ripple effect?
