Default Google is enabling all external images by default? any thoughts?

I just noticed this a couple of days ago. Google is now enabling all images by default. If we do not want to load images for a particular sender, we can do it only after opening the email, which means that that the images have already loaded. Will this be a problem and link accounts?

This is what I read on the Google blog:
"...thanks to new improvements in how Gmail handles images, you’ll soon see all images displayed in your messages automatically across desktop, iOS and Android. Instead of serving images directly from their original external host servers, Gmail will now serve all images through Google’s own secure proxy servers. "

I have many ebay and paypal accounts (which I access from different operating systems and different IPs), just wondering if the images will be a problem...

Any thoughts on this?

Technically speaking and according to google this should not be an issue because they load the images on their servers first meaning any IP tracking or web beacons lose any effectiveness.
That being said - I do not trust google, ebay, paypal or any of these corporations to keep their word on anything like this so I just went into settings and clicked on the option to return things to the way they were - i.e. images NOT being displayed automatically. You do have that option. I would highly recommend using it.

This is kind of interesting. Think about it?
"Google already has a huge amount of information on each of us along with search history, social media history and even what videos we are interested in so I am not overly concerned about the privacy of Gmail pictures."

Mind blowing the new technology. Just got a text from Amazon that my pkg. was delivered. I don't remember giving them my telephone #, really?

The thing with that option is that even though I enabled it, images from senders already in my "inbox" are being displayed and the only way to disable them is by opening the email and selecting "do not display images from this sender..." That was my concern...

Anyway, technically, it shouldn't be a problem since Google claims that they are storing the images on their servers first. Although, as you mentioned, we can't really trust Google either.

Well I haven't noticed yet, but could have been. Maybe someone has instances where this has directly led to problems

WTF! WOW why the h3ll do they always complicated sh*t for people! WHY!? GMFDI!!!

ANYWAYS!!!!

You guys should do what I been doing for 18++ months.

I USE THUNDERBIRD! And it will never display any images unless you click "show remote content"

Thank me later!

P.S. for you with the questions. I got like 48 or 49 Gmail's attached to this program and works fine. Did I mention it's FREE?

+ it lets me know what account to log in every time I get an order or question by customers. It's simple and easy. Outlook costs money and is slow if you ask me! I JUST NEVER REPLY USING IT. DON'T BE LAZY JUST GO INTO STEALTH MODE TO REPLY TO CUSTOMERS!

1. open your gamil app

3. clikc on settings

4. you have to do this for every one of your ebay or paypal acc.

5. click on the acc you want to disable images and download attachments.

6. look for a word called images click on it and select the one that say (ask be for showing images.)

7. you will see another another word called (Download Attachments. uncheck the box. )

8. rember you have to do these for all your ebay and paypal acc if you have 10 acc like me you have to do this 10 time. there is no one click fix for all your acc. you need to do them one by one.

To me Google has allot of employees doing nothing, so they come up with these grand ideas that add up to more problems serving no purpose.
Allot of things I used to search for are gone from their search methods over the years. Less and less for no good reason.
