Can eBay see when you open up a sold item email?

Just out of curiosity can eBay see if you opened up an email? For instance a question from a buyer or sold notification? If so can they get any info from it like ip?

eBay can read our messages with customers on eBay itself. But, presumably that's not what you're referring to?

You mean outside of eBay our main email clients?
What do I need to disable on email clients?

Thinking of getting VPN will protect that side of things (hopefully)

it depends on the email provider, eg. gmail default is to not show images, you need to google each provider and there is always info on how to disable. other alternative is just to open the email only on the user screen for that account.

VPN is not a guarantee that you will be protected from images....you need to check settings but not the way it works, VPN is to do with your IP mainly...if you worry about an open email grabbing your ip (not sure if that is a myth anyway) then always make sure your ip is correct before opening....
