Oh dear.....logging in from same household
 

Good Monday afternoon!

I use only a hard wired connection on the same computer when logging into eBay.

The rest of my family use a wireless connection to go online. Is it safe for them to go onto eBay wirelessly or do they need to stay off completely while in the same house?

Does the wired connection and WiFi run off the same ISP box?

Yep, same modem/ router combo box through same provider.

Make sure the IP is different and everyone has there own user account

They cannot use the same IP address as you in that case when you are using eBay to go on eBay themselves.

I would look at getting another method to connect to eBay for yourself. Saves a lot of potential headaches.

IP can't be different if they are all connected to the same box with the same provider... if I understood correctly.

The way is what JamesNorth101 suggests. Use a different method (a dongle will do)

Thank you all again.

I will err on side of caution. --Is a mobile hotspot feasible or can I just log in using my cell provider service, with the wifi turned off on the iPad? Are either of these options ok?

A mobile Hotspot or "Dongle" will work fine, you can also Tether (Using your phone's Internet) to connect to the Internet....Personally I would recommend a Hotspot, a lot easier to use.

Just so I am clear: If I use my phone's internet with the wifi off that is called tethering? And that is ok, right?

When you tether...You Can't use your Home Wifi....You have to setup your phone to become the Provider of Internet for your Computer but if your not Tech savy this will become very confusing.

I would suggest you stick with a Dongle/Mifi (Mobile Hotspot)....

Stick to a dongle because it is simple.
