Hi,

Bought the stealth guide.....GREAT ITEM!

Anyhoo........I have pretty much decided I have to go with the dialup option to switch IP addresses. I bought a USB modem on ebay and it seems to be junk. On amazon the similar items come with very poor ratings.

Any recommendations for a good quality, warrantied dialup modem?

(My broadband has the same IP address for over 2 months. Techs came out and the bottom line is that the IP address is more or less static if it is available when I reboot. According to the techs, the company tries to have consistency with IP addresses to have better service / performance. If "my" address has been taken when I shut down, I will get a new one. But if "my" address is available, I will get it again...and again and again.)

So, about that modem?

Have you tried using netgear router ($30 walmart)? Thats what I used before I got a MIFI, which is also good.

Dial up is going to be painful.

I use generic dial up modem - very slow but gives dynamic IP...why not explore dongle? Faster alternative
