Reformating my laptop

Hi,

I would like to reformat my laptop to have a fresh start and getting a little slow. Normally do this once a year etc. But now have 2 stealth accounts aswell as my normal 2 ebay accounts (buying/selling)

I'm not too worried about my ebay accounts as never had any issues before when using new laptops, or rebooting them.

But the 2 stealth accounts are new (<2 months) so would like to keep as much as i can of the cookies. I use firefox for these on a different user name on Pc.

What would be the best way to keep that infomation and transfer it over to my new clean machine.

many thanks

Re: Rebooting my laptop

So, you are saying you want to re-format your PC... not reboot, right?
Rebooting is when you turn it of and on again.

You basically want to export cookies and history from your old browser to the new one.
I have no direct experience but I have found this that could help you as a start.

(sorry it is partially in italian but I think it is ok)

Maybe others members has done it already. Wait for someonelse jump in.

Re: Rebooting my laptop

I know this was last month, but there are a couple options available if someone finds this later on.
This is assuming you are using Windows. Mac is similar, but stored in different spots.

So, your firefox profiles are stored in
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefo x\Profiles\(profile name) where (username) changes for each windows account.
You should see a folder like e8dls8elsf.default or some other combination for (profile name).
Inside this folder is literally EVERYTHING for that user, all it's history, all the cookies, temp files, favorites, passwords, you name it. If you just copy that folder and then paste it back (after remaking the user name post-format), it will be like nothing ever changed. Same home page, still logged in to wherever you were before.

Another option is to use Paragon Backup and Restore
Backup & Recovery Free Edition - Overview
This makes an entire 1:1 copy of your hard drive, either hooked up by USB or installed (if your using a desktop or laptop with 2 SATA connectors). You just clone and install the new drive, nothing else to it!
