Default Account link

Hi

My account has been restricted due to a link between my account & my sons, probably because ive been him at his house using his internet. His account is suspended indefinitely, but I dont live there, so what would your advice be for me to remove restriction?

Should I say I know the account holder or plead ignorance?

My listings are still active btw..

Thanks in advance

It may not be possible to remove the restriction.

Ring them and plead your case. That is all you can really do

It is a solid link so you probably cannot do anything about it, you both need to go stealth, wise to do that anyway as so many accounts are being permanently supended these days. Yours is no the only post today about suspended accounts being caused simply from a link to a previously banned account on the same device in the same building.

Hi

thanks for your replies

my account is registered at my home address, so would that make any difference, never had any issues with them when before when using my internet??

It asks me when i click on resolve problems in the message as to whether i know the account holder or i dont...

Should i say i dont or say i think i know where the link is??

Why havent they removed my listings?? I have over 20 listings still active, but not allowed to list more

thanks in advance

Public IP

Device IP just runs on the internal network.

Do you reckon i should tell them i think i know where the link comes from, or just say i havent a clue in reply to their email??

And should i contact them before all my auction items end, or just do it now??

Cheers

Keep in mind that ebay can pull your listings up to 90 days after their over. That being said, your reply or explanation is likely to have low chance of any help. End the auctions and build new stealth accounts.

Does yr son have the same surname as you. If yes, then i guess you cant deny knowing about the link

Good news that your listings have not be removed, which currently suggests that they are giving you the option to resolve the.situation.

As said, same surname, think.youd have to say you know where the link is. Let us know about that before yu do anything :-)

ALSO...has your son ever used your internet at your house they would know about that too

I doubt it matters. If you havent.responded before the items end, i think they woukd block yu listing till you do reply to them :-)

In my experience, being linked to son's previous banned accounts is terminal, even though he no longer lives at same address. Appeals don't work. Create new stealth accounts, you will make more income from them if you get it right running them, and this forum is here to help you to make sure that you do run them properly.

Its a tricky one but OP has.a.fighting.chance to rectify this situation that may or may not work.
I think if they have the same surname, there will be no.choice other than to agree to the link between them.
Woukd be interesting to know whether son used internet at OPs house. Though it hasnt been asked, they could know and are waiting for the response :-)

Also...there is no issue of shared address. OP merely logged in at sons house that created a link. There addresses are otherwise separate

No way you can reinstate your accounts. You both now need new ones.

Might depend on what your son has done or not done.

If his account is deliquent, then that's going to be tough.

Ignore the adivce of pulling your listings. Silly advice. That infers you feel guilty.

And you do not want to give that type of hint to them.

Any chance you can find out from the son whis side of the story?

BAH: wtf are there two threads running on the same issue????
