VPN doesn't hide my IP AT ALL!

Well I bought a VPN service that uses OpenVPN GUI. It's working great for surfing the net and it doesn't reveal my IP in those "what-is-my-ip" site.

As you know when you change your password and email address in ebay, they send you a notification email, BUT GUESS WHAT, my IP is in the email that indicate where the changes is made. Gosh....

Any suggestion?

GreenBean 02-13-2009 12:21 AM

Don't use VPN. Well documented here that it does not work. Even with 98% of existing IP set-ups, you should be able to have a different IP. If you are not in the US and list from overseas, then that is different. Makes it hard to advise you.

That's not a good VPN at all, it does nothing to hide your headers.

BlackLogic is the only VPN I recommend right now.

keltplayer 02-13-2009 04:58 AM

I'll try Blacklogic for now :/

anyone recommend asia vpn service?

sick-bay 03-05-2009 10:14 PM

Is there any way (any web site) to test the opacity of a VPN?

I mean eBay and Paypal seem to figure our some users' IPs even when hiding behind a VPN

Jonas 03-06-2009 01:25 AM

It might be possible you only set the VPN up to do HTTP pages but not HTTPS pages. I've used transparent proxies on eBay many years ago and eBay would give the proxy's IP instead of my own.

at this time i use this service fast cheap and secure :D
VissVPN.com - VPN Service,Hide your IP,Be American anywhere

That is not a good vpn. I have used blacklogic but it was expensive compared to others. If you search a little bit you can find cheaper companies other than blacklogic.

VissVPN.com I.P.'s are blacklisted by PayPal

aquariusvc 03-08-2009 01:15 AM

if you do it a legal your paypal has no problem i use much account with this service in no problem

I've had problems logging into bank and financial (stock trading) sites repeatedly when using 3 different VPN's and countless proxy services.
It seems customary for sites requiring maximum security to filter out all IP's from known proxies and public VPN's

I would expect Pypal/eBay to be on the cuting edge of this information.

I would also expect that they would implement IP screening in a "permit and monitor" model rather than in a "deny access" model.

Which means they've already flagged you for coming in with a naughty IP, but they let you be, and watch very closely whatyou are doing.
Then one day, wih $5,000 in the account, they ask you for your SSN and credit check.

Note: just because they haven't TOLD you they suspect something, does not mean they don't.

Yes, some vpns are bad. You can open your own vpn's if you purchase a vps.

aquariusvc 03-09-2009 05:00 AM

yeah you can buy server and build vpn for your self . how many ip you need you can buy that easy.

pleure 01-19-2010 02:43 PM

can you advise any vps website?
best options for our problem..
as you know there are many options for vps servers.linux/windows,ram,processor,hdd etc..
the basic plan will be enough for us?:help:

None of low cost public VPN service are secure! You will have many problem eg.blacklisted by ebay/paypal or their server got overheated and lost connection then your real ip will show up during use (might be this reason as what you metioned)..

You want doing long with VPN on ebay, you must hire a new single IP server.Only you use this ip this server this will cost much more but it worth a try.

pleure 01-20-2010 04:14 AM

but with vps,we can make new and never used ip.right?

No you can't.Most provider just hire a server themself and opend up 100 vpn connections in that server and hire to 100 users. All their IPs when useing will be the same...

Those VPN software offering like 100-200 us ips are rip offs. They just from different vpn providers,.The person made these software paid them all and you just access all the server ips what many many people using. What ever ip/servers you switched it still a public server many people using..:rip:

pipiman 01-20-2010 09:51 PM

BlackLogic is the only VPN I recommend right now.

I am currently using blacklogic, but when I was trying to list items for my US account. I got the message saying that my account is accessed by an unauthorized third party.. Oh well, I am that third party.... =(
