Etsy Integrity Shut Account Down
 

Hi,

about 24-48 hours 2 of my newly created accounts got shut down...

This was the message:

Hello,

This is Merle from Etsy's Marketplace Integrity team. Thank you for your interest in selling on Etsy.

Based on inconsistencies we reviewed in your account information, we have reason to believe that your business presents a significant risk to the marketplace and we can no longer accommodate your account(s) on Etsy.

and so on.

Created the accounts with fresh IP, VM, unique item (picture never used before etc,) and uploaded the ID when they asked for it during the creation process. This worked with lots of accounts but the last 2 got shut down pretty fast.

Any Ideas what went wrong?

This happened to me once too. Which bank were you using?

Did you send the same id?

Was all your info unique and new? Name, address, etc?

I used my german bank account. A different one than with the other accounts ofc.

Never used ID, everything new.

Do you think your products meet common sense to be produced as handmade in Germany?

deleted exif and the items are self designed and handmade.

What did you use for a fresh ip? VPN? If so what company?

That was my first thought. If there's no other sellers of that product in that region and a seller was shut down (you) with the same items they'd assume it was stealth and ban it. It could also be the items themselves causing the flag independent of the region.

I know it's a long shot and the account will stay dead but did you ever think of writing back Merle and asking what the inconsistencies were?

Apart from that I'm pretty sure it wasn't the item. Since I have the assumption that most accounts are manually reviewed within the first 48 hours after creation I always list one of grannies self knitted items (new pics, exif removed) for the first 48 hours and start from there. However they shut grannies knitting shop down.

Was the item indexed? It could be anything, the way the shop was verified, the name not being removed from certain areas that is associated with the bank...a lot of variables.

same thing happened to me, i am looking for help
