Etsy Just Suspended My Account

Hey guys! I need some help! I'm really not looking for any pity. I have been selling on Etsy since I can remember. I worked full-time out of college for a few years. I grew my business and as soon as I was making enough to do it full, time I left my job. I continued to grow my business over the years. It is how I take care of my family and pay all of my bills. I sell on other platforms but Etsy has been the highest earner for me.

In the last week I had my account suspended. The ODR has completely ruined me. I sell internationally and literally most cases or bad reviews were items not delivered when I have proof of delivery. I contacted Etsy on every occasion, first warning, second warning, third, they told me not to worry that someone would manually review my account and that they can't take these things off my account even if they are closed in my favor or reviews are updated to 3 stars or more.

Very frustrating to say the least. I started to get worried when my ODR went up after multiple cases of non delivery that showed delivered. A case that said it was never delivered when it was. And a few unhappy customers that changed their reviews when I offered excellent customer service and sent new items.

Recently I was unexpectedly hospitalized due to a seizure. I was in the hospital over a week. And what a joke that I was sick over getting bad reviews and my ODR instead over worrying about my health. Orders piled up, I had a 1-3 day processing time. I had to extend my processing time and message every customer and let them know the situation. Some people actually didn't read apparently and I got another bad review over a late shipment even though I showed Etsy screen shots of message that was sent to the buyer, even the updated processing and shipping time and my message offering to refund them if they couldn't wait.

I was sent home from the hospital. I have OK insurance but nothing great as I am self employed and was not expecting this. I probably need to get surgery as I have a cyst that is taking over 25% of my brain. More MRI's, more appointments and put on medication that I hate. It makes me tired, it makes my brain foggy, it took away all the motivation that I once had that helped me get to where I am to begin with....

My worst nightmare came true and my shop was suspended by Etsy. Literally every bad review I ever got or case was fixed expect for a few in cases of the ODR. But Etsy doesn't care. Did they review my account like they said they would? No! Did they look over any emails that I was sending them after each case closed in my favor or review changed that stayed on my ODR? No! Of course not. They will not respond to any of my messages. Just generic messages from Etsy that I do not care about my customer service and to stop contacting them because they will not respond.

The audacity. I am so mad. And whoever "Beth" is that is emailing me excuse my language but she can go f herself. How can they say these things to me? How can they tell me I don't care about my customer service and I did nothing despite my warnings? Why would I contact them every single time? This ODR has made me sick, literally.

I have bills to pay. I have kids to take care of. I have dipped into my savings. I can't work because of my condition and the fact that I can have seizures at any time and I don't know what to do. They took my whole like away from me in the blink of an eye. I really need to open a stealth account until I get something else going.

I am sorry for the long post I needed to rant. And whoever read this, I APPRECIATE YOU. Please help me. I am desperate. I need to pay my medical bills and my rent and put food on the table. If someone can let me know the steps. I am in the USA. To my understanding I need the below.

--->New bank account (new name and address?) (PO Box?)
--->New IP address (thinking of getting a new laptop or phone?)
--->New WiFi (Starbucks wifi)
--->Do you need a new SS number or can you use your old one?

What am I missing? I can provide my email to chat.

New Windows User should be enough
IP Adress has nothing to do with Notebook
Use mobile Internet but public wifi could also be an option to get new IP Adress

Easiest thing would be to use a completely new persona ... with real Info.
better and safer than going stealth

For masking IP you could usea VPN , works for most major sites.

I have read cases like this many times,since you have family,why cant you train one of them as your backup?
But then I dont know how old are your kids and what you sell?
it is odd that buyers will claim non delivery when you have shipped and tracking to prove such.

until you improve your business plan,with your health condition,you could be suspended again

Please do not use a VPN - etsy will shut you down instantly

Here is what I did

A relative offered to 'front' my new account - but she is 300 miles from me

I bought a tablet with a new data sim

I went to her house and opened the new account in her name. Initially I used her card and bank account. I left the tablet there as Etsy collects mast information. I operated the tablet with a remote connection

New photos, new descriptions etc

After the first sale I changed the banking details to my new account

I have now changed the address to one near me and I now have the tablet at home running on the sim and not the domestic broadband

So far so good - but VPN and vcc on etsy seem to create problems which if you can avoid you would be well advised to do - or take your chances that they will work for you

Also I'm in the UK and cannot really say how US works

Bigblackdog. Thank You for your sharing. I am planing to make a new e tsy account too. It is good to hear that you could get back to e tsy successfully. What you have been done is very impressive. And I would like to ask few questions to have a better understanding.

1. "I operated the tablet with a remote connection".

1.1 Was it you left the tablet in your relative home and controlled it (like log in & out account and create lists) remotely by software for a period of time?
1.2 The purpose behind, it makes E tsy realise that there is someone operate in that location?

2. "After the first sale I changed the banking details to my new account"

2.1 The banking account for deposit was changed back to an account under you name with new address?

2.2 The moment you change the banking details is after the first sale was marked as completed and the money was deposited to the relative account?

2.3 Have you change the credit card info to your name too?


3. Is the shop operated in direct check out mode?

Hey guys!

I appreciate the responses.

I will do the tablet with the sim and login to a totally different wifi that was never used before. My only concern is I haven't found someone who I can use their SS number. If I use a different address and a new bank card but it has a different name and same SS will that work?

Or will they ask for a picture of photo ID or something?
