Copyright Final Warning [Advice Needed]

Hello,

I have given a final warning from Etsy with regards to repeated copyright infringement.

I would like to seek advice on how to proceed next? I have 2 accounts and I have taken all items down and put them in holiday mode.

Should I start a new account using the same ID?

if you are going to keep selling IP violation items then you are going to keep getting banned. Your best method with this strategy is just keep creating them or change your niches.

SELL SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Your account is still alive so its still valuable. Deactivating everything was the right thing to do, and opening a new store with same ID is the way to go. Re upload everything to the new shop minus the copyright listings and you're good for a few more years. Forget the old store, leave it in holiday mode or even close it eventually.

Can I just take down the copyright listings and list just the legit stuff without creating a new store? I have about 700ish sales so it is such a waste to just let die down.

it is worth a try,as final warning is not suspension,remove all your copyright listings.

Usually its the 2nd (or 3rd) infringement after the "final" warning they suspend.
But, depends on what you sell. In my case, its not the obvious that gets you into trouble, its no name t shirt seller takes out trademark on some phrase that gets you. You really need to research everything you sell.
Moving all your stuff to another store is a lot easier than lifetime ban and trying to open a strealth store in this environment, which appears impossible. So hang on to that account.

Thank you for your advice! I would like to verify something here. Does creating a new account means that my copyright strikes are reset? I read somewhere that says that it doesn't.

if it is just a secondary shop with your info then no. not unless it is a brand new account in a different name, etc

I've had multiple shops same details, the strikes scores are separate. Et si is fine with extra shops from same seller, they dont bother with linking them until one of the shops get suspended. They require that you declare other stores in your about section, but not for the purposes of linking IP strikes.

Hello there! I was searching for answers about how Etsy's final warning works and I saw that you posted about creating new shops to reset the strike count. Do you still sell on Etsy? And do you still do that strategy and think it still works? My shop received a final warning and it's my main source of income. I'm kinda worried. thanks a lot!

That's a tricky situation. Starting a new account with the same ID could cause more trouble. Best to reach out to Etsy's support for help and maybe chat with a copyright expert too. Stay honest and open, you'll sort this out!

Don't contact Etsy, they will look at your items you've listed and if no good your done....I say abandoned the account with the warnings..and open another.When they shut you manually your info is no good anymore.
