Payment reserve for all new sellers?

Has anyone managed to avoid the payment reserve placed upon most new sellers?
If so, how did you go about managing your first few months after your first sale?

You can not manage there nothing. Ebay keeps payment on hold for 2 months.
What you can do is - to send item with fastes method. In this case you will have sooner funds than 2 months

What? eBay only holds your payment that long if they banned you.

I believe I need to clarify my question:
So, has anyone NOT gotten the 45/90 days reserve as a new seller after their first sale?

Every new seller funds aren’t getting held 2 months. This is only for people who’s accounts are flagged

At least for europe is like that. For USA it can be diferent.

No accounts is not flaged they all are live.

Its is not about flags. TS has also same problem, because he is from Europe.

I am asking about Etsy, not Ebay.

Re: Payment reserve for all new sellers?

I just noticed this is etsy. But etsy is the same way as eBay, PayPal etc. If you print labels directly from Etsy then funds gets released after delivery.. NOT 2 MONTHS.. You really think every new Etsy seller funds are getting held 2 months ?!?! If you use your own labels then they cannot confirm you shipped to the right address. But if you are printing labels directly from Etsy and still getting 2 month holds then your account is definitely FLAGGED

Re: Payment reserve for all new sellers?

Etsy uses Aftership to confirm tracking and it can verify most major shipping companies around the world. Etsy shipping labels are not even available in most countries.

Still, the question remains: has anyone NOT been hit by the reserve during their first couple of months after their first sale(s) while not using tracking for their shipments?

I do offer tracking as an option, but it is very expensive in my country and most buyers choose non-tracked shipping.

Re: Payment reserve for all new sellers?

On Ebay, instead of entering tracking number, the seller can just marked the order 'SHIPPED' .
Cant recall if Etsy has this feature.
you may want to go to Etsy seller forum and ask

I opened 3 new small accounts (not stealth) and sold very little with no 90-day hold until I decided to put advertising on the accounts and then they put the 90-day hold on them.

Marking as shipped is not enough, nor is photos of the actual shipping process at the post office. All that counts is a valid, working tracking number.

Would you mind revealing the approximate monthly revenues and time before you started advertising and was put on a reserve?

I am trying to figure out a safe frame as to the amount of sales and time period. Not that a reserve would be the end of the world, but I'ld rather avoid it due to many small orders and very high shipping costs.

My account is legit and my goods are hand made.

if you use ETSY to print your shipping label,Etsy has seller protection whether it has been received or not by the buyer,as long as tracking shows it has been shipped, this is for USA sellers ,dunno about overseas sellers?
Have you asked Etsy customer service that ship with tracking is too expensive for what you sell?

Etsy has no mercy whatsoever for the lack of, or reason for lack of tracking.

At the beginning of this year I breathed life into a 2-year old account, until then it was only used for purchases.

After (I believe) 10-15 or so successful sales (and maybe a month or so), with 100% "scores" on Shipping speed, Customer communication, and positive customer experiences/reviews, my payment "Reserve" (Which only holds funds for...they say 45 days, but I always got my full payment (partial payment comes to you directly after the sale) a few days after the package started moving through the shipping system.

After that, I received my full payments for all my orders before I had even shipped them. My payment reserve was gone! Came as a surprise to me, and if I had to guess, I would say that by the time I had 20 sales and 1.5-2 months of good behavior, it was removed way earlier than i thought it would be.

Just buy the shipping labels ASAP, ship fast, and shoot the customer a quick message letting them know you are dropping off their order ASAP at the Post Office (customers love that), and you may be rewarded.

If you dont do these things, specifically shipping slow and not communicating, things will be harder and Etsy will see it as risky behavior, which wont do you any favors because customers will complain and some may even report you.
