So who's in the market right now?

I have a good chunk in AIB, BAC, SIRI, and F

I'm hoping for an uptrend this coming week.

Definitely in!!! I have bought F, STEM, AIG, GM : (, SCII, SBUX, SSN, GERN, DRYS, CTIC, MNTG. I think that's all. LOL Anyway, I bought these all when they were at their lowest and haven't been hurt by any of them. Has been all smiles for me so far.

Good stuff, I'm thinking of putting more money in, probably more into BAC while it's still pretty low.

I think overall this summer will be slightly down, but come October or so we should start going much higher until the end of the year.

I will check out BAC. I am really liking DRYS. But I put the majority of funds into all the stem cell research stocks. These are all long term investments. I think they look pretty good. I am just a small time investor trying to grow my retirement. I agree about the summer being slow. I think it might be a good time to snap some more bargain stocks.

Hehe, I'm looking short term.

Long term to me is if I get stuck in a stock and have to wait it out until I get my money back. That has happened to me twice with SIRI and once with RDN.

I've done pretty with BAC and F

What's a good sizable amount to get started with. $500 maybe?

Five hundred is a start, but it isn't much.

It's the amount my uncle started with. I helped him sign up at TD Ameritrade and invest in some SIRI stock. He made a 40% return luckily, but that was only a couple hundred dollars.

Now think if he invested 5k, 10k or more.

Right now there is a lull in the stock market, and it will probably go lower before it goes higher.

Maybe work to putting a grand or two in your brokerage account and invest in some stocks late this summer.

40% return? I've always thought returns was around 10%. How long it took to get that 40% return. I rather do short term cause long term to me is anything more than a couple days.

Well he got lucky.

We bought when SIRI going up.

I bought SIRI when it was 7 cents a share.

I just sold yesterday at 40 cents.. I probably should of waited until today as it's 45 cents now.

But he sold awhile ago.

I got 10K stuck in the stock market right now...
I am just hopping it goes up and up so I can get out at least even.
Then I can move on to a better stock or wait for the next big fall then get back in...

Come on and give me a 500+ day soon... LOL

I'm down a little with my AIB stock, I have 12k in that one.

I probably should have put that money in BAC, I'm up on that one right now.

Oh well, in the long run everything will be back up.
