future of bitcoin

what is the future of bitcoin? when will the highest price go?

Bitcoin will be around for a long time. As for a price prediction? Nobody knows. Seriously, listen to no one, including myself. If you are very concerned about the price in general, then I would advise against buying BTC.

I think this is not the answer of my question, But if you buy bitcoin and its rates become high you can earn hundreds of dollar.

Could pump again but I fully expect it to end up in the ****ter. People will laugh in 20 years time about how they gambled on a 'coin' with a $300 billion market cap that didn't actually exist and basically nobody used for anything other than speculation.

I disagree with you.
I think in 20 years youll look back in regret for not getting in while you had the chance.
But we are each entitled to our opinion and only time will tell.
By the way - I think youll be doing that regretting a whole lot sooner than 20 years. More like the 5-7 year range.

More than 6 month passed and price was around $6k to $7k and you still hope for $8k to $9k

Don't know if itll go to those figures this year but one never knows. Lets say an ETF is approved youll see bitcoin double its value if not more. Who knows.
I do believe that in the long run - and im talking 5-7 years range we will see bitcoin get to heights we havnt seen before. Six figures wouldn't surprise me.
Im a patient man.

Hype has died. Will have to lay dormant and forgotten about for some time for the media to rekindle. Too volatile now to ever be accepted as an every day form of payment. Half of bitcoin ICOs have failed. Needs a breakthrough in infrastructure to hit the prices it once was. Needs a lineup of large investors step in with something up their sleeve. Many years to become a staple in economics. Won't up and vanish, needs time to fail.

You asked two questions. Honestly, I thought that I answered both. If you believe in the tech, then invest for the long haul. Try not to worry about the price too much, it will be erratic.

Future of Bitcoin and/or Monero is buying drugs and illegal services. Once a government (who knows which government it will be this time) shuts down the dark net markets that have popped up since Operation Bayonet BTC will lose it's only real use and the value will plummet. I have no idea why but they've allowed Dream Market to stay open since 2013 which has kept people buying cryptos. Once Dream goes, and they make it impossible for another market to take it's place, I certainly won't be interested in BTC anymore and I don't think very many of the people currently buying crypto will be either. Dark net markets are the only thing giving cryptos any kind of stability.

There is some truth to Phaz0rz analysis, which is why I said to not invest in Bitcoin based on price speculation. However, there are other use cases. These are the cases that I find interesting, dark net use cases are not interesting to me. Ask anyone from Venezuela about Bitcoin and your views will change, Phaz0rz. Protection from another banking debacle is another very real use case.
But yes, Monero is a dark net play.

Re: future of bitcoin

Many are HODL-ing in hopes of quick wealth so bitcoin will be worth something. Large players make the prices move like we saw leading up to Dec and then the sheep and media follow. Unlike stocks, ICOs worth is proportionally dependent on their largest holders and their influence on supply/demand. Bitcoin is too much like gambling at this point. If it cannot recoup after everyone's first realization how unorthodox it is as a form of payment, it will fizzle out. Businesses need to be convinced this is a great thing to be paid for a cheeseburger to get a stable bottom line, which unfortunately, won't ever happen. It will remain within the small community of like-minded risky business individuals, and we've seen once already how it has played out.

Prices hit short of 20k quite frankly because no one really knew wtf bitcoin was or where it could be headed. It needs a new angle and prices will rise again.

I like the idea of using mining processing power to solve complex equations or simulations for institutions or companies like NASA and they pay you the equivalent in BTC. At least then the process could be put to good use and incorporated and backed by society on a much larger scale.

As some expert said years ago, bitcoin chart is like a cocodrile teeth, it may go down but then it will go up for sure. You can see his "first tooth" with this bump in the end of 2017.
Probably the next big bump will be on 2020/2021. Or if people force it could be in the last months of 2019.

Some people like this guy don't know when you run while he is ahead...

He waits for his pretend "investment" to go to ZERO.

Should have sold @ 20k (sigh) that ship has sailed bruh....

Summed up very well. :thumb:

As soon as someone comes up with a reason why we can't live without bitcoin, its price will sky rocket. Otherwise, I can't see it increasing in value.

But i've invested in it, because I feel IF someone does come up with a use case scenario for it, its bound to shoot up very quickly. It's an absolute PITA trying to get on board with BTC when it starts rocketing.

If you're into investments, it's not a bad idea to have a little in BTC too. As with any investment, its a risk.
