unfair chargeback fees

Hello guys, as usual while I'm selling on ebay, I met a scammer and after he got his item, he opened a dispute for an unauthorized transaction

I didn't reply and three weeks later, or maybe less, i found that they refunded him and took from me 40$ as a charge back fees 20$ for every transaction of two transactions !

what can i do to get back the charge back fees which is 10x the items price !

tried to call them but unlimited waiting time

It’s a fixed price. I don’t think you can reclaim it

Who is the payment processor? And yes, a lot of these times the price is non-negotiable

These payment processors can be notorious to fight off - even more so if you did not respond to a dispute....can you appeal somehow?

The Paypal chargeback resolution fee is clearly lined out in the Terms of Service you agreed to when you signed up for your account. There's nothing you can do to get back money that you rightfully owed Paypal.

Not sure if OP is referring to Paypal....

The fact that you didn't reply closed all doors for you.

What you should have done was reply back and give PP the tracking and proof of delivery to stand a chance so they'd cover you in case of things like this

Re: unfair chargeback fees

If this is Paypal the OP is talking about (which I assumed it was since he mentioned selling on eBay) they charge a $20 chargeback resolution fee regardless of whether or not they win the chargeback for you. It's to cover the time a representative has to spend on your chargeback. In 2016 on our biggest business account, I noticed when filing my taxes that we had $460 in chargeback resolution fees despite us submitting tracking and winning all but 2 or 3 of them.

It wasn't wise to ignore the chargeback like you did, but if this Paypal you're working with, they would have charged you that $20 fee regardless at the conclusion of the chargeback.
