I need some advice about a aliexpress order
 

So I bought a item based on the pictures shown from aliexpress. Unfortunately seller sent me a much inferior product, a cheapo clone that other sellers are selling for cheaper on aliexpress. In fact I can get it cheaper in the UK!

Furthermore, DHL was meant to be part of the order, but they shipped it by slow ems, parcel force delivering it charged me customs with their hefty cut on top of it too.

How do I go about sorting this?

Has anyone used the dispute process before?

Ideally I want the customs charge back and seller to pay return shipping. But, chinese being Chinese I know they won't do this.

Advice please?

Sorry to hear this, there are some bad sellers on Aliexpress.

I would open a dispute , send all the info for example the customs charge details etc. Leave a bad review for the seller, i always check their feedback before i purchase.

Talk to the seller first, see what they offer

If that fails then best bet it to talk to the card company

I recently used Shopify with Oberlo but the delivery is terrible!

AliExpress is full of scammers who will take your money and give you bad products. all you have to do is use The store’s “Buyer Protection” policy:

Every seller must have the following conditions:

1). Full refund if you don’t receive your order.
2). Full or partial refund if the item is not as described.

Therefore, Open a Dispute after receiving your product and ask refund because item is not as described.

So Aliexpress came back after opening a dispute and gave me 2 options

1- 50$ refund.
2- I return item at my cost.

I accepted option 1 and i've since sold the product on and bought one elsewhere, direct with a seller rather than through aliexpress. Aliexpress use pictures of products that they don't physically have. Will never use them again.

Ali usually takes buyers' side in such cases and make sellers to issue full refund

Yeah, unfortunately, a lot of offers that are posted on Aliexpress are cloned and don't even have any reviews on them. Everyone is trying to find the best price, but those are not always the best choices. In this case, there are found several Aliexpress extensions which help to see the whole description. By using those you can find the trusted sellers and buy needed items from them. I'm personally using the https://alitools.io/en extension and I am more than satisfied with it.

it must be a high ticket item,and still working,there fore a $50 refund.
but smaller items,ALI will just refund in full without buyer returning the item.
Most Ali sellers are indiviudals like us,they dont have factory,they may not even be wholesalers,they just go to the market or factory and buy after you place the order/
