most gamblers lose money,thats how casinos manage to stay open,pay their bills and turn a profit.
Some do win,but they follow their rules ,you have to be very disciplined.
Someone once told me he read a book on how t o win poker,he followed the rules to the T and won,but when it said get up and leave,he decides to stay and keep playing! you know the rest.
Once I was at Caesar Palace and found a $25 token on the floor,I cashed it so I guess I WON !
Then I decided to keep looking for more tokens on the floor,there is a guy assigned to watch gamblers and my behavior caught his attention !

Stock picking is a different process since there is more data available and wealth is generated as opposed to pure gambling

I will say the same thing - it IS possible, but you should spend a lot of time in this game. You need discipline and patience, because at first you will loose very often. I am playing poker for 5 years, and now I can really make for a living on poker. But, before I learned it, I have lost a big sum of money. Think twice before starting a poker "career".

I had pretty a brief experience with pokerstars. I love this game, but it's hard to play online. There's usually a player who starts betting big stakes at the very beginning, so you either have to risk a lot and call him (by closing the stake) when the odds aren't too high, or you have to fold. It's not a very pleasant, so I don't bother gambling online anymore.

Online poker is just much more difficult than live poker. I crush live poker and beat online poker, but I must work much harder to beat online poker. Players are much more serious online and are there to typically gamble less and take their poker more seriously.

At least 5K of my winning have come from online play though, the rest from live.

i have made roughly 30k a year the past 3 years sport betting. took a year of winning 20k and losing it all in a month to learn bankroll managment, but other do it, im sure poker is no different.

the biggest thing imo is it needs to be #3 or #4 in the list of income streams, otherwise there is too much pressure to bet recklessly to pay bills etc or get emotionala. all about the setup and having intense discipline

i could care less if i win or lose a bet as i have the savings and other income streams to handle anything and bet within my means.
