Only you can decide if that’s good or not V the amount of work you put in | It's sort of like when a girl posts a picture of herself on social media and says "what do you think, am I cute" |

| wthezzy | 06-19-2020 10:38 AM | Re: Is winning 25k playing poker a lot? Don't listen to these idiots. Obviously they're set in their ways. Great for them that they have something that works for them, but without talking to someone about this that's IN THE GAME, and plays regularly, you're just going to get horrible advice that's just going to piss you off. That said, I've been playing 8 years, recreationally, and have moved to playing regularly... About 30 hours a week give or take, so I guess you can say it's a second job for me. I'd say that as long as your up in the long run, keep going. If your stats over the years show that you've been able to consistently pull profits, I'd say it's worth continuing. Now, the amount... Is it worth your time? at 25k spread over 3 years, that's not much... But I don't know how many hours you put in or how serious you are about playing. Is it casual playing? Or do you rely on it for some sort of income other than pocket change at the end of the day? On average, I make 6-8k a month from poker. To me, it's just like a job where I clock in, go through the motions, and I'm out. I no longer get the thrill of playing like I used to, and sometimes, I can't wait to leave the table. It's become just that, a grind. I suppose this happens sooner or later, but for me, it's given me no reason to stop playing. Now, I agree with others how this can open doors for a new addiction, some of which you all seem all too familiar with. And I'm not going to lie, poker did open doors for me to other games which I've lost upwards of 50k on (damned baccarat). It took me a while to realign my focus and get out of "gambling" and get back to "playing" to make profits. My advice to you is to determine your goal, and like any business, have an exit strategy (unless you see yourself playing cards forever). Also, I just thought I'd mention, I don't play online... Online poker is a totally different ball game. I only do live playing at casinos. 7AM-12pm, depending on how I run. Usually I'm out within the first 2 hours. |

I would take the money and run. You say your wagers have been getting bigger and bigger so it's probably only a matter of time before you lose it all and have some mafia guy chasing after you trying to collect.
Aside from that 2.5yrs is a long time and you could have made that amount working at McDonalds without any risk.
EDIT: Or, AT LEAST, take the $25k you've made and set it aside, then start with $100 again and see if you can make $25k again. | That's solid advice. Wish I did that (setting aside the equivalent of the original investment) with my cryptocurrency investments back during the big boom in January 2018. At one point, my wallet was worth roughly 60K with 20K initial investment. Now, it's worth a lot less. |

Well done, keep it up! I am also very lucky at betting now, although until recently I mostly lost. But now everything is much better! To tell you the truth, I really miss the days when there was no quarantine and this is the coronavirus. Unfortunately, many casinos are closed due to the pandemic. And I remember how cool it was there! The atmosphere was simply indescribable. Now it's also not bad, I play on sites, but still there is no pleasure :) I really miss those times, and do you guys miss them too?

Re: Is winning 25k playing poker a lot? $100 to $25k in 2.5 years part time is relatively decent. Little under $1k/month. The issue is the risk factor involved. I don't see this as a "good or bad" thing. It's a hobby that fortunately hasn't drained your account. Keep up the wins! |
