can he use his cab or he has to use his private car? |
nickopedia | 11-14-2019 11:53 PM | Re: Lyft,uber,and more I am a registered driver with Lyft.
They only require a background check and that your own car is newer. This is typically 2015 or newer, or 2010 or newer depending on the model and the market you will be driving in.
If you don't have your own car to drive that's suitable, you can rent one through one of their partners.
Don't expect to make a lot of money driving, unless you can expect to put in at least 40-60 hours per week in a big like NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, LA, or Vegas. After your account for expenses (like gas/maintenance/food/insurance) your "take home" net pay will be maybe half of your gross. Very often I would only make less than $20 /hr, and that's not even taking into account taxes.
I did it a few times in the Bay Area (CA) and decided it wasn't worth it. Gas in some parts of San Fran is close to $5 /gal now and my time is worth more than that. |
agent006140 | 11-15-2019 05:08 PM | Re: Lyft, uber, and more I tried LYFT once, the driver also works for Uber and licensed to drive truck on long haul, from our conversation,it does not sound like a well paid profession.
But then there is another driver who works for UBER.LYFT and AMZN and he said he is making good money doing full time.
I read LYFT has shut down its car leasing business, |
nickopedia | 11-15-2019 05:37 PM | Re: Lyft, uber, and more Lyft and Uber are using rental/lease partners. In Lyft's case their rental program is called "ExpressDrive" which partner with Pep Boys. It cost about $240 per WEEK, and they deduct the rental from your earnings. If you do a certain number of rides, however, they will give you a discount.
As I said, it doesn't pay much, and rideshare companies (Uber/Lyft) have been consistently cutting their pay rates. It's getting to the point where being able to make money from that is harder and harder. |

agent006140 | 11-19-2019 11:29 AM | Re: Lyft,uber,and more Several Lyft,uber,uber eat drivers posted their results on Youtube,after working 6 days a week for 10 hours/day,they made +/- minumum wage .
But some have other gigs, one will buy returns lot and sell them online.
But if you like to be your own boss and start work at 10:30 am ,not 8:30 and do not mind working late and 6 days a week.
One Uber Eat driver showed off a $5 tip from delivering pizzas to an office, and he likes that, this is the only tip he received that day | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:12 AM. | |
