Lol there are still a ton of states that have no minimum wage or the federal minimum wage. $7.25 an hour. That's the case for the entire southeast besides Florida.

The only perk of living in these places as opposed to say Florida, where i am from, is the cost of rent is SUPER CHEAP. My city in FL a bare minimum apartment is like $1200 but in say NC $900/month rent can get you a pretty nice house

When I was in NYC,I met a lady who lived with her daughter and her family, she has no skill, speak no English ,she worked in Chinatown, bring her own lunch and tea bag,for a sweatshop.
Her job is to pull a plastic bag over a piece of garment before they sent them to the dept store ,she gets 7-9 pennies for doing so.
It aint that easy,if you have to do 50 to make $5.
She grossed over $7,take away subway tokens for elderly, she gets between $5-$6.
She does this a few times a week and get $35,not bad for an old lady,AND THERE is waiting list if she decides to quit.

I dont understand why they dont build more studio apartments, the bedroom is a waste if you are single.
Some have a walkin closet,so here is the bedroom !
