I find it unlikely that it started in USA, but I do believe it was here before the CDC admitted it. I guess it's possible that it was made in an American lab and then smuggled into China and purposely released to hurt China? IDK. Sounds like something the CIA would do, to be honest. Their stated goal is to protect US economic interests abroad.. so it's possible. :juggle:
Useless to argue about though. I'm just here to report numbers. |
I would have believed the theory of China being targeted if this virus was kept in Asia, but it is spreading in Europe like fire.
The communistic government of China is capable of forcing nation-wide quarantines, but western governments are not as good in that regard.
Steve Bannon is talking about COVID-19 forcing a migration of corporations out of China and back to the U.S, that could be an indicator the current U.S government is behind this.
The democrats and the globalists are also talking about how COVID-19 will wreck the stock market, kill Trump and reverse the "damage" of the 2016 elections.
So both parties are hyping this up and claiming it will benefit them, I think only time will tell us who's behind this :tears: |

There was a bit of a slump yesterday, with only 2500 new cases reported. However, today has already seen 7000 cases reported so the 13th will probably set a new record outside of China. Bitcoin and stock markets continue to be very unstable.
South Korea - 7869 (+0?)
Iran - 10075 (+1075)
Italy - 15113 (+2651)
USA - 1701 (+380)
USA is up to 40 deaths with only 12 recovered, meaning the current case fatality rate within USA is 76.9%. |

Unlike The US government, the Chinese government has almost no oversight at all. They can do whatever the hell they damn well please. Like mass burn bodies and pretend nothing is wrong. Or jail the people that were coming out about the virus. Your country is involved in a straight up cover up. You guys even tried claiming there was no proof of human to human transmissions, as cases of infected doctors were increasing. Sorry if I don't take the word of your leaders, trying to pass the blame. |

| phaz0rz | 03-13-2020 09:58 AM | Re: Corona Virus Spain has basically declared martial law. They're calling it a "state of alarm" but what they describe is martial law. Quote:
The state of alarm empowers the Government to make a series of decisions to tackle the crisis and adopt the following measures: limit the movement or permanence of people or vehicles at specific times and places; practice temporary requisitions of all kinds of goods and impose mandatory personal benefits; intervene and temporarily occupy industries , factories, workshops, farms or premises of any nature, with the exception of private homes; limit or ration the use of services or the consumption of basic necessities; and issue the necessary orders to ensure the supply of markets and the operation of services and production centers. What does the alarm state mean?
Just one day after the head of the Executive limited himself to approving some economic measures and making recommendations to citizens and the autonomous communities, the strategy has changed and the decision is now being made, which represents a significant leap in management against the pandemic .
The state of alarm is included in article 116 of the Constitution and is the mildest of the three that can be applied in emergency situations: the following are the emergency and the siege. It is initially applied for a period of 15 days that can be extended by the Congress of Deputies. Until now, it had only been applied once in democracy, with José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero in 2010 , during the air traffic control crisis.

They are saying that with all the deaths, nobody has spoken out about losing a family member and you can't find names of people who have died anywhere. They say this implies nobody has actually died. They also say Covid-19 was intentionally released, but at most it causes a mild fever with a very minuscule chance of death. For a government.. that scenario would allow them to tighten controls, restrict population movements, and convince everybody that martial law is necessary, with very little actual damage being done. They would just need to report increasing levels of death and get everybody scared, like what is happening.
I don't quite buy it, but it's certainly a possibility. :pop2: |

Who's next? Putin and Netanyahu?
Containing a virus that is four times more transmissible than the usual flu is impossible, the best defense would be complete lockdown of cities (China-wise) or full blown outbreak to help reach the level of herd immunity (which is a better option in my opinion).
Trump is a prisoner of the American government that is compromised with covert agents from top to bottom, the man is clearly sick and being given bad advice. |

103 samples compared to bat SARS-related coronavirus SARSr-CoV; RaTG13 and pangolin SARSr-CoV.
The SARS-CoV-2 epidemic started in late December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and has since impacted a large portion of China and raised major global concern. Herein, we investigated the extent of molecular divergence between SARS-CoV-2 and other related coronaviruses. Although we found only 4% variability in genomic nucleotides between SARS-CoV-2 and a bat SARS-related coronavirus (SARSr-CoV; RaTG13), the difference at neutral sites was 17%, suggesting the divergence between the two viruses is much larger than previously estimated.
Our results suggest that the development of new variations in functional sites in the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the spike seen in SARS-CoV-2 and viruses from pangolin SARSr-CoVs are likely caused by mutations and natural selection besides recombination. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-00548-w
The RBD is a crucial part of coronaviruses, which allows them to latch on to and enter a cell. Even a 99% similarity between the RBDs of the two viruses is not necessarily enough to link them, says Linfa Wang, a virologist at Duke–National University of Singapore Medical School who was part of the team that found the origin of the SARS virus.
The genetic similarity should be higher than reported in these studies before the host can be identified, says Arinjay Banerjee, who studies coronaviruses at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. He notes that the SARS virus shared 99.8% of its genome with a civet coronavirus, which is why civets were considered the source. If pangolins are the origin of the current outbreak, says Banerjee, it is not the pangolins in these studies. |

| Sunspot144 | 03-13-2020 07:55 PM | Re: Corona Virus It's most likely an animal source. The difference between COVID's RBD and the bat/pangolin SARS' RBD showed it's most likely from mutation and natural selection. More evidence is when it said "the difference at neutral sites was 17%, suggesting the divergence between the two viruses is much larger than previously estimated." Don't see it being from a lab unfortunately. |
| Sunspot144 | 03-13-2020 08:23 PM | Re: Corona Virus If I had to guess SARS came from bats that infected civets that infected people.
wikipedia page
However, research into the origin of the 2002–2004 SARS outbreak has resulted in the discovery of many SARS-like bat coronaviruses
WHO and researchers probably start with bats then find the animal with 99%+ RBD match.
Considering how many different coronaviruses there are I doubt this needed to be developed in a lab. |
