This is a short-term crisis that will end as soon as targets on a hit-list are completely done with.

Because i'm sitting here legitimately worried after getting the normal flu followed by bronchitis earlier this year. Can't handle round two. Not a fan of coughing up blood.

Trump is showing signs of shortness of breath, Trudeau is self-isolating after his wife tested positive and Bolsonaro has been targeted as well.
Who's next? Putin and Netanyahu?
Containing a virus that is four times more transmissible than the usual flu is impossible, the best defense would be complete lockdown of cities (China-wise) or full blown outbreak to help reach the level of herd immunity (which is a better option in my opinion).
Trump is a prisoner of the American government that is compromised with covert agents from top to bottom, the man is clearly sick and being given bad advice.

103 samples compared to bat SARS-related coronavirus SARSr-CoV; RaTG13 and pangolin SARSr-CoV.
The SARS-CoV-2 epidemic started in late December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and has since impacted a large portion of China and raised major global concern. Herein, we investigated the extent of molecular divergence between SARS-CoV-2 and other related coronaviruses. Although we found only 4% variability in genomic nucleotides between SARS-CoV-2 and a bat SARS-related coronavirus (SARSr-CoV; RaTG13), the difference at neutral sites was 17%, suggesting the divergence between the two viruses is much larger than previously estimated.
Our results suggest that the development of new variations in functional sites in the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the spike seen in SARS-CoV-2 and viruses from pangolin SARSr-CoVs are likely caused by mutations and natural selection besides recombination. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-00548-w
The RBD is a crucial part of coronaviruses, which allows them to latch on to and enter a cell. Even a 99% similarity between the RBDs of the two viruses is not necessarily enough to link them, says Linfa Wang, a virologist at Duke–National University of Singapore Medical School who was part of the team that found the origin of the SARS virus.
The genetic similarity should be higher than reported in these studies before the host can be identified, says Arinjay Banerjee, who studies coronaviruses at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. He notes that the SARS virus shared 99.8% of its genome with a civet coronavirus, which is why civets were considered the source. If pangolins are the origin of the current outbreak, says Banerjee, it is not the pangolins in these studies.

It's most likely an animal source. The difference between COVID's RBD and the bat/pangolin SARS' RBD showed it's most likely from mutation and natural selection. More evidence is when it said "the difference at neutral sites was 17%, suggesting the divergence between the two viruses is much larger than previously estimated." Don't see it being from a lab unfortunately.

If I had to guess SARS came from bats that infected civets that infected people.
wikipedia page
However, research into the origin of the 2002–2004 SARS outbreak has resulted in the discovery of many SARS-like bat coronaviruses
WHO and researchers probably start with bats then find the animal with 99%+ RBD match.
Considering how many different coronaviruses there are I doubt this needed to be developed in a lab.

Worst day yet by far. 16200 cases reported in a single day, beating China's worst outbreak day by 1100. My state declared a state of emergency and then an hour later Trump declared a federal state of emergency. I'm coughing a bit this morning.
