Default Why did she take a photo of the corner of my front room?

I had a friend over a few nights ago, she is very much photo trigger happy, takes alot of photos of stupid things, unlike me, I hate taking photos. Anyway its just about time for me to take her back home. Im getting a bag ready to put some things that I gave her. She gets up from the chair and all of a sudden she aims her iPhone to the corner of the room, at first I thought is she taking a selfi of the christmas tree, But as I quickly look at the front of her iphone camera, she and the christmas tree are not in the shot. There is basicly nothing in my front room very interesting, just chairs and a table, Now, I must admit im a very paranoid person , and as im driving her back to the bus station Im just quiet with her, and wondering what or why did she take a photo of the corner of my front living room? The whole time im thinking should I ask her? Now, I do have a photo of my father and his gf in the corner of the room, im wondering if she took a photo of the photo? But its a small photo. And why did she take the photo in front of me? Why did she not take it while I went into the kitchen?

Unless you ask her you'll never know, nobody here knows that's for sure.

I just asked her today, she gave just a vague answer. I know for one that if I go into someones house, ill ask before taking a photo of anything. She is half Japanese, and they take photos of every little thing and dont think anything of it, in the UK its a culture of suspicion and paranoia , cant deny that. You just dont go into someones house and take a photo of something, just for the sake of it, but I think thats what she did.

If I had a question for one of my friends, there would be no wondering if I should ask. And it would be most likely followed with 20 other questions and then me telling them they are stupid.

Then we would laugh about it.

Photography is a cultural thing not a genetic predisposition!

This thread would be weird on most forums, never mind one like this.

I have very little trust in anyone, I have friends, but I always feel they are out to get me somehow. I know its not healthy. I tend to overthink about every little thing. Maybe I should just put this behind me?

Well, I have heard of this happening but no one is actually supposed to talk about it online - very "Hush Hush".

The "camera" she used was probably not a normal camera, and or if a Phone it probably was modified to detect paranormal activity. It is a well known fact that Ghost's often accidentally get stuck in the corner of people's front rooms and cannot escape quickly (for some reason unknown to us mortals). She probably detected this and wanted to get a quick EMF reading to confirm.

What a stupid comment. He never said it was a genetic thing. He said it was a Japanese thing. You know, the Japanese culture. This comment would be weird on anywhere.

I think you solved it, because I do have an Urn in the corner of the room also, of my late grandfather, and she was asking about that Urn about 10 min before I saw her messing with her phone to take a photo.

What a stupid reply. They said they were half Japanese if you read it again carefully, as in they were from mixed parentage. In any event, it's still comical to link being 'half Japanese' with an affinity to cameras.

I remember one time being in a group with a half-Japanese person, they did take a lot of random pictures, and she even came up to me whilst i was sitting in peace and took a selfie without saying anything LOL.

I'm not sure if it is cultural, but anyone travelling loves random pictures as memories, so no need to worry about it!
