copyright and trademark ?

i was if i use a picture from google like monster energy drink, or tinkerbell and screen print a shirt or something and sell it on ebay, is that copyright infringement. how can i know if a logo or picture is copy right protected?

My friend got a listing violation for selling Monster Energy drink stickers that he got thru a promotion at work.He was selling them for $1.00 a piece.DAM thats gotta suck getting a listing violation over $1.00.
