thanks | No, UPS does not charge brokerage fees for express shipments. UPS only charged brokerage fees for ground shipments.
Just expect to pay your regular 14% tax, but my supplier usually undervalues the item. Also, you might have to pay duty, I recently received a shipment for exercise equipment and I had to pay 18% duty but luckily my supplier undervalued the item. |
| bigmac | 01-30-2010 01:01 PM | Alright thanks alot |
| aking | 01-30-2010 01:52 PM | Yea I dread waiting on EMS shipments. :-/ |

| tenggo | 02-07-2010 11:30 AM | chinese new year Same problem here, ems taking a bit longer, due to chinese new year next week, lots of people getting last minute orders... |
| aking | 02-07-2010 12:11 PM | yea, luckily my last 2 packages came Friday. I'm not ordering anything until after the holidays. |
| tenggo | 02-08-2010 04:03 AM | slow I made a couple of orders last monday, and got tracking numbers next day, but still about a week later the numbers havent even shown up on the tracking website yet... as long as they leave china this week they should arrive quickly, just worried they might get stuck... i heard the chinese new year is a big deal with lots of people taking the whole week off... |
So I have a question.
Chinese New Year is Feb 14th this year. Do they celebrate it this week or next week?
When will it be safe to order again? |
| tenggo | 02-08-2010 10:41 AM | chinese new year from what i understand it is celebrated next week, however this week is just as bad as many people trying to get orders in, and some people have taken early hoildays as well. Probably all go back to normal within a couple of weeks |
| unfortuantemistake | 02-16-2010 09:35 PM | EMS China is down until the 21st no orders will be shipped until then. |
| jbluntz | 02-16-2010 09:43 PM | And it sucks, a whole week with nothing to do, got all these new accounts ready to go and can't put a single listing up till the weekend. |
| teedon | 02-22-2010 10:23 AM | now china ems is restart to work now,you can make more orders from china now |
| teedon | 02-22-2010 10:24 AM | This week we also need to send out a lot of orders(dvds) by EMS,now the price of EMS is very cheaper now. cheaper then DHL and UPS. |

I heard shipping dvds in bulk by DHL is best way to get past customs, like 20 or more boxsets. EMS is supposed to be alot stricter from now on, from what I've heard. |
| teedon | 03-01-2010 01:21 AM | yes,but request above 21kgs per time at least,just take 3 days to arrive to usa |

Which is better and when? | All Dhgate sellers use this method, any packages under 20KG they ship via EMS anything over that is a HUGE flag and almost guarantee seizure for customs.
So to avoid a loss on both ends, sellers will pay a little more and ship them to you via DHL. They do this because they are also making more by you ordering more.
Also keep in mind 20KG is about 40-44lbs, so would be a large order to weigh that much. |
| teedon | 03-02-2010 01:17 AM | If the dvds is be sent to middle of USA by EMS,the packages wil be very easy to be seized by custom, specially for the 20kgs above |
| teedon | 03-02-2010 01:44 AM | as you know, safety is much important than price, you need to make your packages pass custom safely, and then you can continue to make profit. |
| stealthpirate | 03-02-2010 05:52 PM | Is it safer to get a package shipped as a company or as a individual? Should you trade off different names (Jane Doe or John Doe) for the packages or not have more than one package come in at the same time...Thanks teedon for your previous answers.
