EMS is really slow!!!!
 

Sometimes EMS is so fast , it only takes 3 or 4 days from China to Canada

But recently, EMS is really slow... it may take 10 to 14 days for express...

OMG....

Ems is slow due to the surge of Christmas shipments. I had a package ship from hongkong and it took more than 7 days. I usually get all my packages from hongkong in less than 4 days. Hongkong ems is faster than china's ems for some reason.

its the holidays man, its like this every year. Add an extra 2-3 days to your normal delivery time from Dec 15 - Jan 15.

For me all of my shippments from GUANGZHOU have taken the most time. All orders shipped from that city take 4-8 times longer than other items sent from other cities in china (well that is for me).

For me this delay started this past OCT. I ordered something on the last day of this past NOV, and it got to usa customs TODAY.

Anyone else seeing EMS delays? I have a package that seems to be stuck somewhere. It was shipped on 12/15 and the status hasn't changed since 12/16. The seller is saying its b/c of snow storms here in the US.

Same here. I have an EMS package showing it's been stuck in New York since 12/31. :noidea:

I placed a order on the 30th and received it yesterday.It was kinda weird because the tracking info said it was still in SF customs yet i received the order.

Yeah caz Hong Kong is a hub in Asia- it's got world class infrastructure and people work efficiently- much more efficient than Aussies I reckon. Trust me as having been living in Hong Kong since 2000.:peace:

You must live in California or somewhere wheres there's no snow, lol. Either that or your just lucky. :clap:

if you use EMS,you have to more patient,their speed and service is not so nice,but it is very safe to use it to pass custom.We are sending over 100 packages of dvds to usa,au,canada,uk,japan,sometimes it got only 3 days to arrived,sometimes it got 15 days long,it is normally.

Yes,we also have a lot of packages delay,as the snow storms,but they are safe,so do not worry about this,as ems is very slowly sometimes.More patient

from being really slow, has quickened up now.....!!!

EMS coming into canada i have had alot of my dhl shipments taken by customs asking for receipts import # etc

Many suppliers have said EMS is the safest. But I know UPS is definitely the fastest. One of my suppliers just started offering me UPS on my orders and the last order came in 3 days!!

I can't tell you how much I LOVE UPS. UPS, is waaaaay faster than DHL. Last time I had a package come in less than 4 days. Dhl usually comes in 5-6 days. But, one thing I love the most about UPS is that they do not charge brokerage fees from express shipments. I only have to pay 14% taxes, but my supplier always undervalues the item for me. Dhl on the other hand charge me $15 brokerage fees...they nickle and dime you for every single penny they can get from you.

if you are local in middle of USA,it will be very dangerous,if you want to import the copy products from oversea,as the chicago custom check very stickly,special for the brand and copy products.Please attention

My last UPS package came into the USA through Alaska, lol.

All UPS packages come from Alaska. That is there major port.

anyone have any advice for me?? i ordered a package from china via ems and it has been in freaking us customs for 2 weeks now!!!!!

what products are in the package?You need to put 2 invoice with stamp and signture on the package,and then it is easy to pass usa custom.

Does ups charge a high brokerage fee higher then dhl do you know?

No, UPS does not charge brokerage fees for express shipments. UPS only charged brokerage fees for ground shipments.

Just expect to pay your regular 14% tax, but my supplier usually undervalues the item. Also, you might have to pay duty, I recently received a shipment for exercise equipment and I had to pay 18% duty but luckily my supplier undervalued the item.

For the DVD shippment,you need to be careful when you shipping by EMS

i never had an issue with them before... this is why its so odd that its doing this!! do you recommend maybe another way of shipping for next time?

Same problem here, ems taking a bit longer, due to chinese new year next week, lots of people getting last minute orders...

yea, luckily my last 2 packages came Friday. I'm not ordering anything until after the holidays.

I made a couple of orders last monday, and got tracking numbers next day, but still about a week later the numbers havent even shown up on the tracking website yet... as long as they leave china this week they should arrive quickly, just worried they might get stuck... i heard the chinese new year is a big deal with lots of people taking the whole week off...

So I have a question.

Chinese New Year is Feb 14th this year. Do they celebrate it this week or next week?

When will it be safe to order again?

from what i understand it is celebrated next week, however this week is just as bad as many people trying to get orders in, and some people have taken early hoildays as well. Probably all go back to normal within a couple of weeks

EMS China is down until the 21st no orders will be shipped until then.

And it sucks, a whole week with nothing to do, got all these new accounts ready to go and can't put a single listing up till the weekend.

now china ems is restart to work now,you can make more orders from china now

This week we also need to send out a lot of orders(dvds) by EMS,now the price of EMS is very cheaper now. cheaper then DHL and UPS.

Do you ship dhl? I heard shipping dvds in bulk by DHL is best way to get past customs, like 20 or more boxsets. EMS is supposed to be alot stricter from now on, from what I've heard.

yes,but request above 21kgs per time at least,just take 3 days to arrive to usa

So are you saying use EMS with small orders and bulk of at least 21kg's for each shipment by DHL...I always heard DHL is safer. Which is better and when?
