I guess it counts, b/c I still want a 745Li. :D Thinking about getting an '03, consumer reports looks pretty good, but I need to do a bit more research.
BIMMERS HAVE ALOT OF PROBLEMS... my cuzin had a 745li and a 645ci both of the cars the trannies had to be replaced... he lost alot of money owning those two cars... not to mention the electrical problems on the 745 because it has 4 computers...
if your buying a bimmer make sure it has warranty, you will barely find one in a 2003 745 model.... all german cars are very expensive when it comes to repairs..its not your ordinary Japanese plug it in plug it out type of repair...
7 series always have more problem when ages come up.Bmw always use best elec. tech in 7 series and most of them are not that reliable after couple of years. If you want a large sedan I would recommend a 07+ late model E60 530i.upgraded 270hp 3.0 engine, you get similer performance than a heavier V8 745i but less problems.Oh and 5 series's parts / repair cost always cheaper than 7.
Yes, I have been on the bmw forum and read about all the problems with the 7. Its a shame that such a sleek designed car can have so many problems. I heard about the tranny, iDrive and other electrical problems. Yes, I would only purchase one with a warranty if I were to pick one up.
The 5er is nice but its just not a 7er, the 3er is too small for me.
