I just donated £100, I know its not a great sum but its all I can do at the moment. I notice the UK government has just raised its aid to 35 million.

I saw on the news this morning that they pulled a young 20 something year old man from the rubble. Ill but alive, its good that there are people not giving up hope and every live person they find lifts their spirits in the hope of finding others.

This is a cruel world we live in and when you see the suffering of people in other countries it makes you put your own worries into perspective. My problems in life are nothing in comparison compared to the suffering of others and I try not to forget that as we all shouldnt.

i can think of alot better causes to donate my money within my own country that is struggling. ill pass thanks. all the money in the world, will still only put their country back where it was at. which wasnt much to begin with. i would have supported helping building their country before this happened, now cause a tradegy happens , people want to help an already struggling country before the incident. funny. their are people dying in my own hundred hundreds of thousands year wide due to uncurable disease, as im sure the same goes for many other countries. i would much rather support my own struggling country and economy, and help fund research to find a cure for these diseases. i could name a hundred things. i would rather give money to my local city bum on the corner, then donate to haiti. that is like giving a crack addict cocaine. your only feeding the addiction, some people, some countries, just cant be helped. their is an inherehent aspect in certain types of people, to where they are just not intelligent, not motivated, as a whole, and their countries never flourish. haiti, and much of africa, and pretty much any mainly african american dominated country has never flourished and never will. thats just the sad truth. their not products of their struggling poor environment. they just do nothing to change it. its not their fault, like i said, certain cultures of people just arent as intelligent as others. i would rather give the money to people who i know are going to use it intelligently and properly. but thats just me.

i would rather give money to my local bum rather then donate money to haiti. at least with the bum i know what im getting. hes either going to buy food, or booz, and either way he will be happy. all the money in the world couldnt fix that country.

Neo your donation is very generous. Even $5 do a lot...If everyone can just remember that one time they were extremely thirsty or hungry....It is beyond belief what Haiti people have to endure.
Also, for anyone donating in US before February 28th, it is tax deductable for 2009. Don't have to wait the whole year to file with 2010..

their is a reason, that for years and years, these same countries you see are constantly stuggling. its always the same people, its always the same countries. like i said, some people withing certain cultures are just not intelligent as a people, nor motivated for change or success or progress. so thus their countries remain the same. im a red cross fan as well. seriously people, save your money. their is death happening every where, and i could name a 100 other things where the money would be used more productively and would actually accomplish something. natural disasters happen every where, people die non stop, i dont know why the media is pumping this thing up so much, and so many people are feeling the need to donate millions of dollars. were in a bloody recession. did anyone help us during 9-11? were their any countries donating millions of dollars to us? it just makes me sick. the people that are doing this. i had to say something. countries dont do jack **** when we face a crisis or tradegy, but yet its our job to rush to the aid and help for other countries who could give a rats a$$ about america? what about the thousands and thousands of people dying in israel constantly due to the never ending war in the middle east. does anyone rush to their aid? im sick of hearing the haiti fund this haiti fund that. its every where. no idea why its so hyped. you want to waste ur money go ahead, lot better causes out there to help. ill help those.

I donated and packed boxes of aid, I do it usually at christmas, but there are sometimes emergency appeals like this, had mini on my back and she was really good!

Did you see that little boy pulled out and the way he smiled and put his arms out ..

Yes, what really got to me was that girl pulled out the other day, only top part of her body was not berried and she looked fine..but later on they said she died in the hospital.

I felt my stomach sink after the Haiti government have made the tough decision to call off the search for survivors.

The first thing I thought of was the 21 year old man that was pulled free, alive only a couple of days ago.

We can only hope that the remainder did not suffer.

It is likely there would be found more survivors, I was saddened by the news...
