Default Police follows me and gave me 2 tickets from different locations

Seriously this pissed me off. Yesterday 5:30 PM EST I was driving moderate speed on a two way street. A young cop puts its nose of the car into road so I swerved to avoid hitting the car at Point A. I kept driving and I made a left turn 2 blocks down the street. I noticed he was following me so I used all turn signals and made a right just up the street. I knew he was running my plates(clean record :D) so I didn't get nervous or anything. Kept going, I went through an intersection and went up a little hill and made another left drove 3 more blocks and then he put his lights on where I then pulled over on a corner at Point B.

He ask me if I was in a rush to go somewhere and I told him no, then he asked me why was I speeding(at Point A). I told him I was going 25-30 max! He asked me was you really going 25 miles per hour and I said yes! Then he asked me why I didn't pulled over when he turn his lights on. I told him I just notice you pulled your lights on and if I did notice earlier I was be able to pull over because the they were cars parked on the street. He took my stuff and came back 15 minutes later with 2 tickets. One for CARELESS DRIVING(at Point A) and another for FAILURE TO YIELD FOR AN AUTHORIZED VEHICLE (at Point B)! Two tickets at 2 different locations! Can he do that?

Both tickets are $85 each, and I think the Cop was being an A-Hole( they are in my city seriously )! I would like to know if his actions are racially motivated, was he upset, or was he was a plain ol A-Hole! I don't mean to play the "race card" but I don't think his actions were justifiable. If I was driving carelessly(at Point A) why didn't he pulled me over there? Also at Point B was the other ticket necessary? I didn't drive 3 more blocks before puling over!

I would like to build a lawsuit case on the officer, racial profiling or anything else. I think there is something I can do about this. I know that the cop's dash cam can show I was not driving erratically(from me swerving at Point A and driving to Point B) and the actually relay time it took me to pull over at Point B.

Before I set up any consultation with any lawyers, I would like to know what the experts think. Can something be done? I don't want those false allegations on my nice 5 year clean driving record.

Please reply,

Thanks You

You are innocent until proven guilty. Request a court appearance, and plead not guilty. Be polite and professional, and ask for evidence. If the cop doesn't even show, you're off the hook.

If you're innocent, you should fight it. It's your right.

I agree with First Edition. Contest it and the cop that pulled you over will have to prove you were in the wrong.

On second though you said $85 per ticket? That's not that bad.

I wish I had speeding tickets like that.

Man, I got nearly US $700 worth of tickets in Utah on afternoon. Trooper did not take kindly to the fact I was speeding

You have every right to defend yourself. But be careful how you approach the matter....be well aware of pulling a 'racial' card if you can not live with the consequences.

Geez.. the highest ticket I had was around $500 because of an out inspection and registration sticker.

I was able to fight it though and had them dismissed.

My sister won a traffic ticket. I forgot exactly what it was all about but, she went ALL OUT in fighting her case. She created a huge diagram with artwork and all, it looked like an 8th grade science project.

If you know you're innocent than I suggest fight it. I wouldn't pull the race card in court though lol.

I had my license taken for two years because of speeding.... never again. I almost thought about getting a law degree to practice, the guys that fight this for people make some money.... and talk about job security!

yea man just fight out. go back to the scene and draw a digram of the block an dhow the cars was parked at same time of day and also take pictures. come prepared.

But since you have a clean record, they will probably just dropped the tickets and make you just pay fine if you plea...

Personally I would fight it.....Check into some lawyers

Man I don't have a license but I still drive everyday like I got one, so I'm careful....
