They have become spoiled and demand it go there way. I had one too that they ruled in my favor, so the buyer left me negative feedback on the very last day he could. But I was way ahead of him a noted the date and left it right back.
I just see a trend of buyer becoming a real PITA. I have sold on ebay since 1995 and do not remember any issues like they are today up until the last couple years. Most buyers before wanted to work with you, not anymore.

ebayhateluv 03-25-2008 11:01 PM

EBS:
Thats one thing thats a HUGE difference with the Amazon Clientele, in my experience, they seem like classier customers??
>> For me, if i could do the volume i needed, ebay wouldnt even be a choice to me, Amazon also takes in all pyts for you.. they make direct deposits to your bank acct..
BUT... Amazon sales are like 1-2/week, then maybe skip 3 weeks no sales..?
__________ As for the comment on the Buyers you are dealing with-- They are gonna win with pp, so I just have them send it back, I even send them a prepaid ups label.. this way i control the return...

Good Luck :))
Just keep the patience >.:))

I think the main problem is that with feedback is that even before ebay put in requirements it got to be a big competition to have 100% positive or close. So that a buyer can lie and ruin your reputation. I think feedback can be solved if comments in feedback weren't weighted by any scores and were just comments. And that would also penalize buyers for not reading, which is good.

ebayhateluv, can you explain "I even send them a prepaid ups label.. this way i control the return..." ?

For amazon.com, do you have to give them your bank account?

sycore 03-26-2008 01:27 PM

OK, I am a little confused. Are you saying, the buyer paid you $95 and then told you, you could have gotten $250 for it? I would have been like, yes you got a good deal, but I only paid $30 so I made 300% profit. If you resold it you would only be making approximately 200% profit, if it truely is worth $250. Which by the results of your original auction, it is not.

Jonas 03-26-2008 10:24 PM

Yeah and didn't you at least whine to him and claim "I sold it at a loss" ?

jscan 03-27-2008 01:41 AM

what a jokeeee

myIonU 04-02-2008 04:17 PM

What would you do? fraudulant buyer maybe?

Hi,

I sold item for $50, shipped with tracking no sig, tracking shows item is delivered.

Buyer claims he does not received.

What would you do? refund or not?

thanks

tvaughan08 04-02-2008 04:45 PM

I would not refund the buyer...just because in my past buyers are the worst scammers out there. Also if u need someone to write u a dispute letter if they tried to file a chargeback I will gladly help u. I always win my disputes..its like a boxing match to me and im 11 - 1

myIonU 04-02-2008 05:01 PM

thanks for advice.

item is through ebay paid with paypal. Tracking shows delivered, so I am good with paypal.

I was thinking the same. Most buyers are trying to scam you. Therefore, I do not know which one is telling the truth.

tvaughan08 04-02-2008 07:39 PM

I totally understand, However paypal are some idiots...and they will try to jerk u around.

thelizardking 04-02-2008 10:54 PM

If the buyers address is a confirmed one and you have the tracking number you could win the dispute...if its not a confirmed address you can expect to lose..

Jonas 04-03-2008 03:05 AM

I keep getting more and more buyers who combine shipping and then the buyer claims that one of the items is missing when I know I shipped it personally and I tell them all items contained not to throw anything away if they don't find it. I first thought they were idiots but maybe they are scammers.

TotallyDisgusted 04-05-2008 04:31 PM

Problem w/Payment from Buyer

Listed and sold. Listing specifically says pay pal. I received 11 bids on this item & it just closed. Very nice right? Just received email from winner that he/she can't pay through pp. What do I suggest for payment here? Obviously, eb is not my real name/address, etc.

imjustme 04-05-2008 04:34 PM

Forget the buyer, file an unpaid item dispute in 7 days and send 2nd chance offers to the other bidders :)

TotallyDisgusted 04-05-2008 04:36 PM

You know, you are absolutely right!! Have never had an incident like this. Do I have to wait the 7-days before contacting other bidders for 2nd chance?

jscan 04-05-2008 08:47 PM

imjustme is right, file a dispute, send a second chance offer

extension 04-11-2008 08:55 AM

No, 2nd chance offer asap.

I have a similar buyer, says he can't pay with credit card. I told him, MO or Checks does not worth it when it comes to legistics of it. I told him to just forget it, and am not going to send unpaid item dispute, because I have a new account, and using google checkout, and don't want to throw off a red flag.

TotallyDisgusted 04-11-2008 12:10 PM

Update on buyer: took a chance & emailed her to send mo to my real name w/real address. Received her mo & shipped her item out. No problems so far...Yes...I know it was a bit risky but sometimes you have to just say "What the F" :)

westcoastdon 04-12-2008 12:33 AM

Buyer trying to set me up?

I have a fairly new sellers account 25+ feedback 100%, then today I log on today to see a person who bought an item from me says it wasn't "mint" as listed in the auction its missing a button and has scratches, when I know the phone I sent him was clean and in MINT condition. Then I log into ebay to respond to his email and see he already gave me my first negative and is asking for his money back or another phone. What should I do? I know the phone I sent him was in Excellent condition but how can I get ebay and Paypal to believe me when it comes down to it?? And how can I get this negative off?? Also what do you guys do to protect yourselves from these typres of situations?

mantisinc 04-12-2008 04:46 AM

Paypal will NOT believe you, no, so don't think you can rely on them.
The best thing to do is to ask him to return the item, and then refund the payment. You can then ask to mututally withdraw the feedback after that.

Alternatively, if you don't mind loosing a PP account, you can just close your account, or close your bank account linked to that/CC, so the funds cannot be reversed by paypal.

These situations are never good, and to be honest with you, the only way around them is to list as truthfully as possible, and take as many photos before hand as possible that you could use for paypal evidence. Also make sure you only ship to confirmed addresses.

It's for reasons like this that I don't like selling anything over the value of £200 or so.

jscan 04-12-2008 04:54 AM

tough one, but as mantisinc said, paypal wont belive you.
depending on how much profit you made id just sacrifice the paypal acc close it along with the bank account, and bear with the negative or try mutual withdrawl after it all.

extension 04-12-2008 08:51 AM

Actually, if you have delivery confirmation number, it's easy. Let him file a claim with paypal. Then follow these steps:

1) Reply to it and say you shipped him a brand new item, and that buyer contacted you and asked you to refund his money and refused to return the phone.

2) Immedately escalate to claim.

3) Add tracking number.

PayPal will review and give you a chance to issue him a refund. They give you several options, one of which is to give him a refund once the item is shipped back. That's your cue. Chances are phone is not brocken, and he wants to keep it. So he won't be shipping it back. If he does, chances are he won't use delivery confirmation because it cost extra for him. Go figure.

This is what I used to do, and I win these cases every time. PayPal was always on my side, in fact, I'm still not banned from PayPal.

Now, about feedback. I'd give him a neg immediately. Something along these lines: BUYER TRIED TO CON ME OUT OF MONEY. BLOCK AND AVOID. F----. If he ever replies, go THAT'S A LIE, WHAT A LIER. BLOCK AND AVOID. F------.
