thanks for clearing that up guys

The dumbest buyer ever...

Had a buyer leave me a feedback today, saying:

"Nice item, but way too expensive"

I started the listing at $19. The item retails at around $30-$35. He and 2 other bidders bid the item up to $68 and he then won it. Now he complains that it's too expensive? Of course, but don't bid it to $68 if you don't want to buy it for that price, duh!!

:D

ebayhateluv 11-18-2007 04:23 PM

HI- had the same problem, over + over again, then they send you an email- wanting to haggle the price, or threaten you if you dont take it lower they will give you a neg... I USED to NOT care when sitting on 3,000+ FB, now with 0,1,2, you got to eat crow sometimes :))

vers0 11-19-2007 04:15 AM

I just had a buyer from Germany try to tell me that he thought the shipping to Germany was to much. He told me that he would give me 15.00. A 2 pound package is 22.80 (USPS Online label). I'm like I do not set the shipping costs. People have some nerve.

Idiot buyers - come in all kinds and shapes - talk about your Bad Buyer experiences

I had a buyer where I sent a 1.5kg package from overseas to the US via FedEx. That obviously cost a lot of money but its okay, she paid for it on the auction. She gave me her verified PayPal address and it was sent there. About 10 days later, it's returned to me. About the same time, I get an email from her asking about the status of her package. I told her it was just returned and she starts to freak out, calling me names and saying its my fault and that she didn't know she would need to sign for it and she wasn't at that address except for weekends. Well duh, I didn't know that, she didn't tell me ...and usually every child knows that you need to sign for a FedEx.

Now she just emailed me again and said that I would need to send it to her again - that she wouldnt pay a cent for it because it was my fault - and that she would file a claim with eBay/PayPal that I was a fraud if I didn't do it. I offered her money back and she doesn't want that, she insists on me paying the fees for FedEx (about $80) out of my pocket.

Any ideas on how to deal with this one? I thought of sending her extortion emails to eBay and PayPal before she does.

sycore 12-05-2007 12:34 PM

Yeah go to the live help and ask them how you should handle it. Rat her out before she does.

Chris Hanson 12-05-2007 06:47 PM

Send it EMS its only $29 dollars to USA from China

aspkin 12-05-2007 11:59 PM

Geez Chris you're very knowledgeable... EMS... I guess because you deal with a lot of Chinese suppliers like I do. We're using a cheaper EMS which is around $17 per 150g packages. China to US.

As for you imjustme, I personally don't deal with people like that. I used to, but I found they're more of a hassle then anything else. I'd send her a final email, stating what you offer to do. Send the package for an added fee, send a refund, or nothing at all. I would rather take the negative then deal with her. Some people these days. Tell her, it's this or nothing. Ask her what she wants to do based on the options you give her. And if she doesn't agree to either, just send a refund. Document it well with Paypal.

Chris Hanson 12-06-2007 12:08 AM

$17 per 150 g packages??

Is that a typo? Because that will equal.15 kg, which is quite expensive if I'm doing my math right

ebayhateluv 12-06-2007 02:52 AM

each kg is like 2.2 pounds. 150 grams is only about 1/3 of a pound (us)- so thats like a letter sized. When i send INtl- i use ups, yes its about the same as fedex, i also automatically place the buyers email + mine on shipment/exception/delivery/ once the exception arises- i jump on it. i.e. tax id needed. better description of goods, tariff code needed, etc. With the post office, i have lost several pkgs. As for the buyer- i'd refund her (if she wasnt home, they try 3 times, if she gave bad address, ect then its her fault)- refund less shipping- shes gonna neg u anyhow..

Being blackmailed by buyer...

Help!!! I sold an AUTHENTIC bag on ebay and the buyer sent me an email saying that the bag was ⊗⊗⊗⊗. she said she had it "looked at" but won't say who or where it was looked at. She wants her money refunded BEFORE she returns it! She wrote me this email a week ago and I did not get it as it ended up in my junk mail folder. She did not use ebay message center until after she left me a neg FB so I had no warning whatsoever! So now I have a mark on my record and she is threatening to report me to the "authorities" (vague) unless I pay her refund prior to getting my item back. I feel like I am being blackmailed!

ebayhateluv 12-07-2007 12:47 PM

HI- Dont worry, Have had this happen 3 or 4 times, mostly when items shipped overseas, this way hey feel they have you--IF it was Paypal + IF it was already delivered.. no problem, Paypal ONLY covers delivery, not attributes, satisfaction when dealing with overseas shipments. They will loose the dispute- IF this is the case- immediately ESCALATE the dispute to a complaint, thn provide paypal with proof of delivery, then it goes to review..
>> IF , on the other hand, it was within the USA< and it was paid for in PAYPAL- they will REQUIRE the buyer to obtain a written letter of authenticity, themselves, andthey give the buyer like 7 days.
IF- on the other hand, its none of these cases, and you KNOW factually its authentic-- then couple things:
a.) do you care about the feedback on the acct? yes or no? this will influence your decision.
b.) Tell the buyer its real, make them proove otherwise.
FYI- I had a guy ordered a mens accessory from me, it was vintage, not a biggie name.
He then says it was ⊗⊗⊗⊗, i said-oh no, i was offered xxx by a dealer and refuse, then he says he found it cheaper. didnt hear no more.
Then, recd a chargeback notice, i responded with return address.
This guy sends me an EMPTY UPS ENVELOPE--I mean the letter kind for realestate documents, not a crease in the envelope... HeCLAIMS he sent the mens accessory back to me. Of course, when it was recd, I didnt know what it was- he didnt use his real name/address on return, so i pitched it.
Couple days later-recd advise, Im getting charged back $179... he used that tracking to show return to me..
>> IN another case- sold a clock, vintage- buyer recd, says ⊗⊗⊗⊗, said no problem, send it back, well.. i want my money first, etc. etc.-- he went back and forth with ccnow, they closed case. I told him + ccnow- NO REFUNDS unless i get mdse back.. Even walmart.com, or toysrus, com, WILL NOT refund, unless you give them their mdse back..
--- So, stay strong, dont let them bully you! if they've been around a while, they know all the tricks,,,
They have a Pattern-- threats, etc. they are trying to get around the Buyers Remorse with NOT AS DESCRIBED...

ebayhateluv 12-07-2007 12:55 PM

HI- just re-read she already left you a neg-- so go and leave her a neg right now! (Protect your rep- with good rebuttal- like BUYERS REMORSE- etc.. --then go to feedback forum, you will see the link after you leave fb-its upper left like a thread i think its blue,,,,, in feedback forum now you will see-followup to feedback left--NOW finish the story on her-- MOST buyers dont know how to add that second line, and ebays hidden it...)
THIS way- you have something to bargain with-- You can do mutual feedback withdrawl later..
Right now-protect your pocketbook,
and ebay used to let you hide your feedback while you are disputing with a consumer, until its resolved, but i believe theyve changed the rules--anyone remember??

Chris Hanson 12-07-2007 02:06 PM

You can get negative feedback deleted with squaretrade? What kind of process and info do they need?

sycore 12-08-2007 02:01 PM

You guys are forgetting one important thing. If her paypal payment was funded by credit card, all she has to do is file a charge back with here CC company and payp[al will take the money out of your account no questions asked. I had a complaint, which i won, then the guy files a charge back directly with his CC company and ebay illegally debit the amount from my account and charges me and extra $10! Plus the guy keeps the merchandise! That is why I screw ebay and paypal every chance a get. They must have lost over $5K in seller fees on me over the years all for a bul****e $200 charge back.

aaa1 12-09-2007 01:56 AM

I don't think the credit card company is going to be a problem. I was on the other end of such a dispute and the credit card company would not refund unless I proved that I sent the item back.

This woman is still harassing me... now she is contacting my other buyers. I'm clearing out my inventory, then quitting ebay and sticking to my own website of my other items that are less contentious. No amount of money is worth this!

ebayhateluv 12-09-2007 07:06 AM

HI- are you selling your seller acct? is it old? PM me, I KNOW how to deal with people like this. Have been running the ebay boards since they were auction bid. I was one of the very first Power sellers.. seen em all- dealt with them all..

No, I have seen them do the chargeback if they send it back or not. Anyway, all she has to do is send you back an empty box or one with a brick in it. The only way to deal with them is threatening them. Open open a ebay account in her name address and with her phone number, and then bid away on few high dollar powerselllers stuff. They will ban the new account and if you choose a similar user name to hers, hopefully her account as well. Cost you $5 for the VCC.

ebay100 12-09-2007 11:51 AM

That is one of the MANY problems..

With Ebay ..I had a guy give me Negative feedback on my 100% account before he even paid...nothing I could do..

I know Negatives mean nothing but still.

Bunch of Crap..so tired of this!! this is why Ebay is losing

EB:mad:

imjustme 12-09-2007 12:04 PM

I think I will have a nervous breakdown the day I get a negative. Sold about 400 items in the last 3 months or so, yet to get a negative. I send emails to buyers daily letting them know if they need something or updating them...it really helps.

ivegotinfo 12-09-2007 12:39 PM

negatives are no prob with squretrade and around 40$.
