Hackers have taken down Visa.com

Internet hacktivists have now taken down Visa.com in retaliation for it closing business with Wikileaks. The hacktivists took down Mastercard.com earlier and have plans to take down Amazon and Paypal as well.

This is the first internet war.

Thoughts?

Green Bean is the only war machine you have to worry about here ha

Atomic 12-08-2010 05:38 PM

I wonder how long paypal would stay offline :(

inthezone 12-08-2010 06:20 PM

Damn! should we withdraw our money from PP or what? :D

pod 12-08-2010 06:34 PM

They are just attacking the sites. Not the services. Silly childish waste of time for attention is all

inthezone 12-08-2010 06:36 PM

No, I mean like what if we can't access the site for a long time?

pod 12-08-2010 06:38 PM

They already did paypal. So should be ok. Think they are after Master Card now. Its nothing more then a nuisance attack

Markk 12-08-2010 07:52 PM

I support wikileaks and am pleased to see these sites under attack as it sends a strong message.

holymoly 12-08-2010 07:52 PM

hahaha, well it nice to throw rocks at the tanks of economy every now and again...

Don't call it childish nonetheless...the motive and things they stand for (in their opinion are right), and it's not like you can do anything else really, right?

I only meant that is serves no purpose. Its paramount to egging a house. A pain in the ass and little more - Not a comment against the cause. I have no opinion on it either way

No it doesn't. A dos attack is just kicking and screaming. No statement at all. Again, not a comment on the cause, I have no opinion on that. Just a comment on attacks

Imback2010 12-08-2010 08:18 PM

Yes i Support wiki leaks also!

Peolple Should know the truth..Even if they cant handle it...

First Edition 12-08-2010 09:31 PM

What's that guy wanted for again? rape? or something....

holymoly 12-08-2010 09:34 PM

What probably happened is it was consensual...like Kobe. (yes everyone...FLAME ON!) and saw he was famous, so now this chick filed for sexual assault charges.

Because PP was affected by the SAME hackers...

First Edition 12-08-2010 09:40 PM

There are LOTS of famous people that never get accused of rape.... Tiger Woods, for example.

MadSam 12-08-2010 09:50 PM

The charges aren't rape, some charges of indecency filed by several different women... I believe one of them was asleep at the time...

I passed some of the protests about it where he was held on remand in London, most people were just there to see some of the celebrities that came to try and put up the bail money for him.

I believe strongly in Freedom of Information and freedom of speech, the thing is I don't think WikiLeaks is much more than a stunt.

Imback2010 12-08-2010 09:55 PM

Thanks for clearing that up!

Bu tin the states he was front page big bold letters on the front page... RAPE...lol

I'm going to look into wikileaks and see if its worth it

uk_making_chatters_disapp 12-08-2010 10:04 PM

Yeh baby

Now what paypal really needs is a "denial of service attack" **** yeah lol

First Edition 12-08-2010 10:13 PM

They do that enough on their own....

I think it does; the attacks resulted in dozens of news articles read by people who probably won't know what a DDOS attack is and see a much greater issue than kicking and screaming. It would depend on the individual who reads those articles as to what statement they see depending on their perspective. You don't see a statement and I understand that.
