Yeah going from MVP on the best team last season then being knocked out in the first round...horrible...but I love GS im glad they beat the Mavs...I can't stand the Mavs or Mark Cuban...I used to live in Cali and we got Warriors games on FSN and I watched them grow the last few seasons...Baron Davis is money and he's got the best beard in the NBA...him and Stephen Jackson are great together...

Amare is 0-3 from beyond the arc this season and i think its a safe bet to say atleast one of those came as a desperation shot to beat the clock. there is no comparison from a jump shooting standpoit between him and dirk. Dirk is more of a perimeter player that can create his own shot. Whens the last time u seen amare try and dribble by someone then just stop and try to hit a jumper over him. Amare is more of a stationary jump shooter. If he is open about 15-18 feet from the hoop he will take the jump shot. If there is a defender right in his face he rarely takes a jump shot.

Have you seen any of the recent games? Amare use to take it to the rim, now with Shaq always in the paint he's taking more shots, he knocked down 2 3's this year. Not bad for a bigman, and yeah Dirk is better at the line. Although he is soft, but Boris Diaw is a lot softer, I laugh when he dunks, it's as if the rim had spikes or something, he does it too softly. Of course Dirk means more to his team, with the Suns, Nash and Amare are both important. Then again, Amare is still young in the game, he might be 25 but he was injured for a while. Still, Amare is one of the top bigmen in the league, the suns are lucky to have him and nash. What I don't get is how the suns manage to lose to sorry teams and they lose often. most of their players are roll players, Nash is one of the leagues best pg, amare is one of the best pf, shaq might be old but he's still has experience and that presence in the paint, hill is a also a former allstar, barbosa is worthy of being a starter. The numbers don't add up.

As for the comeback player of the year...that's hard to say, but Grant is doing awesome, now that Marion is gone he is filling his spot with those quick hustles.

The team that I'm most impressed with is the Lakers and Hornets. Paul Gasol is just impressive, his numbers are heavenly. Of course, MVP candidate Kobe might have to do something with that ;)

thelizardking 03-12-2008 02:52 PM

Nash has fallen off a little this year I think..and the loss of Marion didn't help anyone..hes on the crap team of the leage and Wade's out for the rest of the season..they should trade Wade for someone to compliment Marion + they will get a good draft spot and should start building the team around Marion..Wade is a liability with his injuries..

Killed by Ebay 03-12-2008 03:30 PM

still too early to hit panic mode and trade wade. Hes banged up right now for sure, give him next year and if he cant get over the injuries then i would consider it, he is still a young player. Shawn Marion is a very good all around player, i would take him on my team anytime but he's no better then a #3 option of a contending team. They need a great PG and OJ Mayo will most likely be there for them. Unless lottery hurts them and drops them to #5 like my celtics last year lol

thelizardking 03-12-2008 03:42 PM

Wades problems will haunt him his whole career...being so young and always being hurt doesn't look good long term..maybe he'll be the best comeback player some day...which is unfortunate cause hes a great player...but one that will be plagued by injuries..

Yeah I couldn't beleive Celts got 5th...they were horrible last season...but now they are the top team, but still not as tested as Detroit or San Antonio...but those guys are real pros and the East finals will be classic if its Det vs Boston...so maybe the Heat has hope for next year and pull a Boston?

Killed by Ebay 03-12-2008 04:24 PM

if they could somehow get gilbert arenas, he will be a free agent this summer but im not sure what their cap situation is. they would most likely have to pull soem sign and trade bs. the nba salary cap is so messed up, On my nba 2k8 game for xbox 360, its like pulling teeth trying to make a trade, you and the other team can have the exact thing the other is looking for but if the money dont match u cant make a deal

same thing with nba live 08

I didn't even know wade was injured, sucks for Marion. He was one of my favorite players, too bad he was too underrated. Isn't Gilbert Arenas injured too?

thelizardking 03-12-2008 10:16 PM

Yeah Wades done for the season to have another surgery...Arenas has been cleared to practice...but isn't supposed to return till April..

Miami is more messed up than I thought...

Anyone looking forward to olympics? the current roster is intersting, we got Tyson Chandler, Deron Williams, J.Kidd, and my man Amare, and yeah they have the other "Greats" Lebron, Kobe and Anthony. I get dissapointed every time we lose. Afterall, Kobe is the best player in the world, trailing him is lebron.

thelizardking 03-13-2008 10:18 PM

Yeah why doesn't the US b-ball team win every Olympics? I loved the old Jordan Olympic team(s) especially 92 they dominated...

that was the best...the 90's was the best era of the NBA imo

thelizardking 03-14-2008 05:43 PM

I agree the 90's were the best..

highwhey 03-14-2008 10:31 PM

Name your favorite top 10 players of all time

mines:
Micheal Jordan
Bill Rusell
Magic Johnson
Julius Erving
Charles Barkley
Larry Bird
Shaq
Bob Cousy
Wilt Chamberlain
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Those are my top 10. In all reality, today's players excluding Kobe, wouldn't be able to keep up with these guys. Back in the day they played with more intensity. I like Amare Stoudemire a lot, but he can't compare to Charles, Kareem, or Dr. J. Same goes for the rest of the NBA's superstars...

thelizardking 03-14-2008 10:45 PM

1. Jordan
2. Isiah Thomas
3. Bill Lambeer
4. Charles Barkley
5. Magic Johnson
6. Rasheed Wallace
7. Shaq
8. Dennis Rodman
9. Mark Price
10. Jason Kidd

also Bird, Joe D, Pippen, Charles Oakley, Anthony Mason, Tim Hardaway, Chris Mullen, Chris Webber

I would list some older guys like Wilt, Kareem, Dr. J, Baylor, etc..but I didn't have the honor of watching those guys play in their hay day..so I just went with my favs I got to watch..

NBA channel my friend ;) I only got to watch Jordan when I was a child...him Barkely, Dominique, Magic and Kevin. Thank god they have NBA channel, they give a lot of classics. I have to say, Barkely is the most controversial player ever, to date he still makes me laugh. Him and Kenny.

thelizardking 03-15-2008 03:21 PM

Yeah actually I got that channel for like a month in dec..I think they were running it free cause it doesn't come in anymore..I remember they showed alot of old Jordan vs John Starks games and alot of 90's playoff games..i'll have to see how much extra it is..they also showed current games not on TNT/ESPN/FSN/ABC...I wanted League Pass but they don't offer it yet where I live...Chuck is the best..

I don't have league pass but with my HD package I get Nba channel for free, only 9.99 more :D I was surprised it was included. I have DirecTV btw. Oh and how about Houston, 21 consecutive wins is amazing...but I think it's not going to last too long, they have a game coming up with some pretty tough teams-Lakers,Celtics,Hornets, Golden State and Suns. I'm sure they're going to loose to one of those teams, if they manage to beat them all, I will be greatly impressed...seriously.

thelizardking 03-15-2008 08:04 PM

Yeah im very impressed with Houston 21 games is insane. They are a team ive always liked to see win cause T-Mac is one of my fav players. But he shut the critics up when they said Houston wouldn't win w/o Yao..so good job by T-Mac and the Rockets..but I also think they will lose one of those upcoming games..

I'm also a fan of T-mac, awesome guy, his injuries have slowed him down tho, I always hate to see good players get injured. Even if they stop their streak, 21 is just ridiculous, and T-Mac did prove himself by leading Houston without Yao. Also, didn't Yao get injured last year at around the same time(ALL-STARS)?

The suns were on fire today, that new guy they picked up scored 23 points, he's a SG-Gordan Giricek. Amare scored his usual 30 points and 10 rbs. Not bad. Final score against Sacramento 127-99

thelizardking 03-16-2008 02:08 PM

Ha Detroit won Game 1 vs New Orleans on ABC today, Jarvis Hayes was on fire..finally..he takes quite a few shots usually but alot don't go in..it was raining 3's today in Detroit!..Game 2 is Lakers (w/o Pau) vs Rockets (w/o Yao) gonna be a great game..we'll see if Houston can keep that streak going..I bet Kobe goes for at least 40..

22...I remember skip to my lou from his AND1 days, he was on fire Today with those 3's. Tuesday on TNT, let's see if Celtics can beat Houston...

thelizardking 03-17-2008 07:52 PM

Houston with another impressive win..yeah Det playes Denver (local channel) and I'll switch over to TNT after that..This will be a real test for Houston..I hope they can pull off the win..

thelizardking 03-18-2008 08:12 PM

Detroit went for 136! to beat Denver (120) and another great game for Jarvis Hayes..also Rasheed hit about 5 deeeep 3's...1st quarter of Celts vs Rockets is over and Rockets up by one..I hope they can keep the streak going..they are 2nd all time with 22 straight wins..33 is the most by LA Lakers in the early 70's..

GreenBean 03-18-2008 08:43 PM

sucks for rockets, but good for Boston...you have to congratulate Houston, they only have 1-2 active superstar players playing and they won 22. Not bad at all without Yao. My hat goes off to T-Mac and his crew. As for Pistons, they're crazy...Celtics, Cavs and Pistons seem to be reviving the East.

thelizardking 03-19-2008 03:12 AM

Yeah Orlando too, they'll be tough in the Playoffs..

Yeah, Orlando is pretty good I guess. I just want Arenas to return, I heard he might be playing today.

thelizardking 03-19-2008 05:34 PM

Really? I'll have to watch for Arenas can't wait for him to return...Det vs Cavs tonight on ESPN..

this week is awesome, I feel like the playoffs have already begun...

thelizardking 03-24-2008 03:14 PM

Man I thought Arenas was going to play last night but they told him to wait another week...but Washington ended up beating Det last night anyway w/o Gilbert...

thelizardking 03-28-2008 08:31 PM

Whats everyones picks for the West Playoffs?
1. Lakers
2. Rockets
3. Jazz
4. Hornets
5. Spurs
6. Suns
7. Warriors
8. Nuggets

Im gonna go with the Mavs (SW Division is tough) and Blazers don't make it...all other teams are already eliminated from contention..

kawesome 03-29-2008 11:31 AM

maybe when then get Pauly back. As for the finals...i know it's going to be the celtics from the east and lakers/hornets/houston from west. Suns could have been a contender if they got their defense going on...

thelizardking 03-30-2008 03:44 AM

Finals: Pistons/East vs Lakers/West - Winner Pistons in Game 6 - MVP: Sheed

I think alot depends on the West match ups...Spurs will do well, they have the most experience in the West. If it comes down to Celts vs Pistons for the East...it will be a classic series for the ages and the winner will have a hard time in the Finals because this series will take alot out of both teams...If you have noticed, everytime that Cets and Pistons have played eachother this year they lose the next couple games and both teams look real tired...

Kobe for MVP!

I don't know about pistons, they have and have had great defense for a while now but Celtics seem to want the championship more, they have a better record also. but when it comes down to it, you're right, the east will be difficult to predict.

thelizardking 03-31-2008 01:00 AM

If Detroit makes it to the Conference Finals it will be their 6th straight...their more tested than Celts, plus im from MI so they've been my team all my life...but its gonna be a toss up...Its gonna be a great Playoffs East and West can't wait.

highwhey 04-02-2008 02:39 AM

playoffs in 20+ days...

thelizardking 04-15-2008 09:15 PM
