| thelizardking | 03-05-2008 08:58 PM | NBA Fans? Any NBA fans here? |
| bbcoach | 03-05-2008 09:53 PM | Lifelong Lakers fan here, and I grew up in Boston during the Bird era, figure that. |
| thelizardking | 03-05-2008 10:10 PM | Lifelong Pistons fan here...could be LA vs Detroit in the finals...Kobe became my fav player a few years ago...im glad Lakers made the trade for Pau they are legit contenders now.. |
| twdell | 03-05-2008 11:00 PM | used to be, but i hate the ghettoness of the NBA now. |
| bbcoach | 03-05-2008 11:46 PM | Yeah, Detroit is tough, I loved the Bad Boys teams. Gasol was a great trade for them. Kobe needs to win a ring without Shaq to justify his place as one of the best ever. |
| aspkin | 03-05-2008 11:54 PM | Spurs for Life! |
| GreenBean | 03-06-2008 12:00 AM | Oh Yeah! :D I think the Dallas Cowboys are cool.
just SUPERSONICs..... lol. |
| koalawash | 03-06-2008 01:01 AM | I've always been a Spurs fan, but I haven't been able to keep up with the NBA so much this season. I'm not so sure they'd be able to repeat anyway. Every year it's the same though.. I only start to watch closely at the start of the playoffs. |
| thelizardking | 03-06-2008 01:17 AM | Spurs? What?
I have to give the Spurs their due they have been very dominate for many many years but for some reason I love to see them lose. Maybe its because they took that second ring from Detroit? but Detroit, this year, will make it 6 straight Conference Finals to tie the NBA record set by the the Lakers in the 1980s. |
| highwhey | 03-06-2008 12:28 PM | Huge Suns fans here. As for the finals, Lakers have a really good chance now, that trade with Paul Gasol was really smart. As for the suns, well, they lack effort or so it seems. I still can't believe that they lost to the Sixers, yes Igaudola is good but not good enough to beat 2 of the best Bigmen in the league and the best SG. It's hilarious at times...the only player actually showing effort is Amare with his 30pts and 10 rebounds a night. |
| viking23 | 03-06-2008 01:18 PM | From New England,been a real long dry spell for the Celts.
Lets see if Garnett is the answer.
Of course living in Peru now I cant watch em:eek: |
| thelizardking | 03-06-2008 02:09 PM | Celts beat Detroit last night...but they will meet again in the finals. They have had 3 great games this year I can't wait to see that series. Orlando is going to do well too, Hedo Turkoglu has really stepped up this year... |
| thelizardking | 03-06-2008 02:15 PM | Who do you guys think should get MVP?
I saw a sign from a recent game that said it all "24>23"
Although LeBron has had a great year...he's done alot of amazing things and he definitely deserves the nod...My vote is for Kobe..The guy has been robbed of MVP the last 2 seasons...He has lead his team from non contenders to the favorites in the West...He has matured in his playing and what he has to do to win...How has he not been MVP before? He now knows he doesn't have to score 50+ for them to win..
Its very close and if the Lakers were at the bottom of the West id vote for Lebron but my vote is for Kobe. |
| ebayhelp | 03-06-2008 02:32 PM | bball basketball is so boring... id rather watch croquet. |
| Killed by Ebay | 03-06-2008 04:03 PM | Chris Paul or Lebron for MVP, so hard not to give it to lebron, his team blows |
| bbcoach | 03-06-2008 05:11 PM | Kobe is the MVP, Lebron is close, but the difference between the 2 players right now is on the Defensive end, people don't realize how good Kobe is on D, Lebron needs to work on that, Also the West is much tougher with maybe 9 teams winning 50 games. Kobe has been scewed before for the award, its his time. Lebron is crazy though, 50 pts, 10 boards, 8 assists???? thats an incredible stat line. Although it was against the CBA level Knicks. |
| thelizardking | 03-06-2008 05:19 PM | Good point about the D...Kobe is a top notch defender and WANTS to guard the best player on the opposing team. Kobe has reached a Jordan like level with his game. I agree its time for Kobe to get his due. |
| Killed by Ebay | 03-07-2008 12:29 AM | Kobe also has Gasol, Odom and for the early part of the year andrew bynum.
I am a big kobe fan but if u take lebron off the cavs they are the miami heat. There is noone in the league that means more to their team then lebron does to the cavs. Kobe can get away with a bad game and their team still win. If lebron doesnt have a good game that team is toast.
Kobe is def. the better all around player, but the MVP award isnt for the best player, its for the guy that is the most valuable to their team |
| thelizardking | 03-07-2008 12:58 AM | W L PCT
43 18 0.705 - Lakers
35 27 0.565 - Cavs
Kobe is the guy Most Valuable to LA and they have a better record. And they haven't had Gasol for that long. Kobe has been carrying that team just like LeBron has. Put Kobe and LeBron with the same guys and Kobe's team would win.
Kobe has become subtle in his greatness, just because he doesn't score 40-50 doesn't mean he had a bad game. Have you seen those dishes this season? The Blocks? I will agree the Cavs live and die by LeBron and he has had multiple triple doubles but put the Cavs in the West and the Lakers in the East, the Cavs would be in 9th place and wouldn't even make the Playoffs. With the Lakers a distant 3rd above Orlando. |
| bbcoach | 03-07-2008 01:32 AM | All NBA Team, post your choice, they have to be the real position they play, like not just 2-gs, they have to be Point and shooting, Power F and Small F, and of course center.
PG-Chris Paul
SG-Kobe
SF-Lebron
PF-Duncan (don't like him, but hes the best)
C-Howard
what do you guys think |
| thelizardking | 03-07-2008 01:39 AM | PG-Mr Big Shot
SG-Kobe
SF-LeBron
PF-KG
C-"Superman" Howard |
| Killed by Ebay | 03-07-2008 01:59 PM | PG Rondo
SG Ray Allen
SF Paul Pierce
PF KG
C Kendrick Perkins
:) |
| bbcoach | 03-07-2008 02:14 PM | NO, that should have been:
PG Cousy
SG Havlicek
SF Bird
PF Mchale
C Russell |
| thelizardking | 03-07-2008 02:15 PM | haha, exactly....Ray "Jesus Shuttlesworth" Allen is nice! |

what do you guys think | Howard and Duncan are good no doubt but Howard aint the best Center in the NBA, trust me.
PG-Steve Nash
SG-Kobe
SF-Lebron
PF-Amare Stoudemire(very versatile player, dunks like Howard yet shoots like Dirk)
C-Shaq (he draws a lot of fouls)
I know I might get bashed for choosing Amare over Howard but Amare is more more versatile, he's 2nd in most dunks currently and he has a nice FG%, plus he knows how to draw fouls. He's underrated. Shaq might be old but he still has game in him. |
| highwhey | 03-07-2008 04:13 PM | IMO Lebron doesn't really deserve the MVP, Kobe does but not Lebron. Sure he grabs a nice amount of board and scores insanley, but look at his team. There's not a lot of Players in the NBA that can score 50...but those that can don't do it because of their Coach or the fact that they have other All-Stars on the team who can actually contribute to the team. There are better candidates in the NBA...Kobe is at the top of my list, followed by Dwight(his numbers are actually impressive), Nash and Dirk. A good player is one that makes his team overall better, thats not what James is doing, he's (for most of the part) making himself better. I think that because he's still young and hasn't figured it out yet. I still love James tho, no doubt. |

Dirk makes his team better but lebron doesnt? I dont see that at all, Dirk has good players around him thats why they play better lol James scores all those points because he has no choice.
I agree with amare, he is a stud but the comparison of his shooting ability with dirk is way off. BUt shaq is no way in hell an all nba center right now. I would take Yao all day over shaq |
| bbcoach | 03-07-2008 08:18 PM | I didn't choose Yao because he seems to get hurt a lot. Amare is not better than Howard, its close, but maybe pre-knee injury, not know. Shaqs days are gone, I love him, dont get me wrong, he got me 3 rings as a Laker fan, but Howard is the man in the middle. |
| bbcoach | 03-07-2008 08:19 PM | How about whats the sickest dunk ever??? I mean in a game, not a dunk contest. Check out Tom Chambers Dunk on Mark Jackson, he looks 8 feet tall, youtube has it. He also has a sick reverse jam on Bird also. |
| thelizardking | 03-07-2008 09:14 PM | Ones that stick out to me...T-Mac on Bradley...and Manu on Yao... |
| bbcoach | 03-07-2008 10:16 PM | That could be anyone on Bradley, there was a segment on Best Damn of just dunks on him, it was 10 minutes long. |
| thelizardking | 03-07-2008 10:20 PM | Yeah I saw that on youtube
I guess my all time fav would be Shaq bringing the whole thing down and the shot clock hit him in the back. |

I would take Yao all day over shaq | Amare isn't as good as dirk with field goals but getting there, Dirk is more experienced and he's pretty much perfected his 3. That's what Lebron is missing, a good team, but you don't need to have an All-star line-up to win a championship although it will help greatly, but if you truly are "the king" then you could have made your team better. I don't need to list any player(s) that have done this. ;)
As for Amare and Dwight, like I said, it's my opinion that Amare is better. Did you see the Allstars when Dwight got dunked on by Amare? That shows his explosiveness, although before his injury he was a lot more explosive. In the paint, Dwight is more of a "leaper", that's why he leads the league in dunks, but Amare is right behind him, not to mention Amare will knock down a 3 if necessary, but again, he's doesn't attempt much 3's because he knows he hasn't perfected that area. It's all a matter of their situation, Amare has Nash, Shaq, and Hill, those guys get double digits pretty much every night, that's why Amare doesn't knock down 40+ although since shaq's arrival he's been scoring 30/night and grabbing at least 10 boards. |

| thelizardking | 03-09-2008 02:33 PM | Best player comeback of the year? What do you guys think?
Grant Hill, its so great to see Grant healthy and playing a whole season. He's been playing awesome for the Suns this season. |
| Killed by Ebay | 03-09-2008 05:14 PM | lol amare will not nock down a three. Amare has no outside game, his range is about 15-18 feet and he just started getting this shot. Amare is 0-3 from beyond the arc this season and i think its a safe bet to say atleast one of those came as a desperation shot to beat the clock. there is no comparison from a jump shooting standpoit between him and dirk. Dirk is more of a perimeter player that can create his own shot. Whens the last time u seen amare try and dribble by someone then just stop and try to hit a jumper over him. Amare is more of a stationary jump shooter. If he is open about 15-18 feet from the hoop he will take the jump shot. If there is a defender right in his face he rarely takes a jump shot. |
| thelizardking | 03-09-2008 07:05 PM | Dirk is better big man than Amare...bottom line
He's more versatile and means more to his team than Amare |

| thelizardking | 03-10-2008 12:25 AM | haha yeah Dirk is way too soft...not as soft as Yao...but Amare does have him beat on aggressiveness and straight up manliness..Boris Diaw needs to be more aggressive too.. |

From a pure talent standpoint dirk is a top 10, maybe even top 5 in the nba, but i think i could name like 20 players i would rather have then him. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:17 AM. | |
